It was sorry. But that Zlatan header was so outrageously dangerous it might as well have been a goal #accordingtothemancs

Maybe he knew about the dock development and jumped on the money train knowing what an investment opportunity it is, especially when you are the largest shareholder of the project driver, the keystone to the whole regeneration of the area - Everton Football Club

This is just one of the many reasons why I think the amount of money thrown at players is such a bad thing. Almost all players will come from ordinary backgrounds, with the interests and social environment that brings. Within a very short space of time the better ones find themselves millionaires, but they don't really understand the lifestyle. They're probably still attached to the people and surroundings they grew up with, and mixing with those on an ordinary income can easily make them targets of the envious ones.

    I blame the parents :)

If form the age of 8 you are with a club (say everton) you should know damned well as you progress up as a family the pitfalls coming... especially when the cheques start rolling in.

FFS there's lots of slags hanging round desperate to get a peice of action at training etc. they all wanna be a WAG.

Yes its a "short time" from 15/16 to 18/19 but the families have to be the ones shouldering the responsibility to get them past it.

In most cases the families are no more experienced at this transition than the kids. Never mind the fact that they see the £ signs rolling in front of their eyes too.

Then the grandparents need to take responsibility. They need to teach their kids that if they have kids that become multi-millionaire football players they should be able to handle the situation. <ok>

Well, it's all very nice that you all think handling the situation would be a piece of piss, but I suspect it's not as easy as you think.

The fact it doesn't happen very often tells us that most players get it and know where to go and where not to go.

Barkley has the right to go where he likes and shouldn't end an evening [or early morning] picking himself up off the floor because some nut job can't control himself. I still hold though that we don't know the details. Justovertheline pointed out that it's been suggested a drug dealer was involved, although the source is 100% unreliable - you won't need 10 guesses on that one. I googled to find out my facts and 3 years ago there was a story about some drug dealer who was going out with Barkley's ex threatening him. The lad in this latest incident could be the same one going by looks. Who knows. Whatever it's about, he didn't deserve what we saw in the cctv footage.

What do you think is more important to him; EFC who will own a stadium on rented land in 45 years (when he's 106), or the Liver building which is investing for new tenants this year?

He wasn't prepared to put a single penny into your stadium. At this point, continuing to believe he cares about you is #deluded

You've had your billionaire owner windfall now. It was paying off Martinez and buying Schneiderlin <laugh>

I guess owning the largest share in the redevelopment keystone project isn't enough for him......he chipped in 50% for some office space rent.
