Anybody still watching? The weather for tomorrow afternoon in Austin doesn't look bad. Just do quali and the race in one go.
What a washout! That said, everything is intensified for tomorrow (except, hopefully, this dire weather…). If the plan to retain Qualifying in its conventional format goes ahead a few hours before the race – as I expect – there will be an awful lot of pressure on those who normally get to Q3 to use Q1 for tweaking set-up. Unless this revised schedule is also rained off, Q1 could be mayhem with front runners trying to improve set up at the same time tail-enders do their best to qualify higher than normal. And with wet running almost a certainty at some point, the prospects for spectacle are somewhat higher than usual for this stage of the weekend…
He did well keeping us entertained with the Lewis Hamilton love. I nearly decided to read something else. But this guy.....he had me hooked.
Looks like there's a possibility it'll clear up... but weather can be somewhat unpredictable down here. Hopefully it'll be glorious sunshine.
I'm with you (in more ways than one) on that, Bhaji! As you say, fingers crossed. And (he says with the proverbial meteorologist's finger in the air) I think it's going to happen. P.S. Are you in Texas for this?
Sadly not... I'm a couple of hundred miles away and was thinking of heading over, but happily decided against it.
Looks like it's happening, expect to see a lot of running as there will be yellow flags all over the place.
Fairly odd thing to say? Andrew Benson @andrewbensonf1 1m1 minute ago Race control says intermediate tyres may not be used until further notice. Five minutes to go http://www.bbc.com/sport/live/formula1/32543397… #BBCF1
