I've seen hardly any coverage but they'll surely be able to get this done on Sunday. Tomorrow looks a washout, but Sunday's dryer, unless it causes flash flooding there should be plenty of time for the water to drain, it's not like getting a cricket outfield prepared, if it stops raining Sunday morning they should be able to race in the afternoon. The biggest problem is that Charlie Whiting likes the safety car to pound round until the track surface is dry enough to strike a match on. Edit: If it is a washout it's going to be so damaging to F1 in the USA, it's not overly popular there anyway, especially after the 2005 farce. Bernie will be putting heaps of pressure on to make sure this goes ahead.
It's a big if right now... it really is going to depend on how far/what this hurricane pushes in. It could be beyond monsoon conditions... or it could be glorious sunshine.
This is the first race I've voted this season. It would be typical if all season I'd voted no one and someone won, and then the one race I vote for someone, no one wins.
Bernie really doesn't give a crap about this race. In fact he'd probably like to pull it before he gets well and truly FIFA'd.
I'll add half points if there is only qualifying or a half distance race. No points if the race is abandoned. Full points obviously if the race is completed.
This race might not be run, and judging by reports of the hurricane hitting Mexico, will the facilities be in a fit state to host anything either?
It's passing nowhere near Mexico City so they should be fine. Imagine if Hamilton won the title because the next two races were called off.
Reports are the storm has lost a lot of its power, so concerns about damage to infrastructure, landslides, major loss of life etc are fortunately wide of the mark now. I don;t think there was any major issue with Mexico City directly, but would not be good if the rest of the country was suffering a major disaster and F1 rolled into town to pretend nothing was going on.
Yes, tomorrow's race is definitely not guaranteed by any means if it keeps moving East and doesn't blow itself out.
