I mentioned this some weeks back that it might not be the silliest idea in the world, but Benson is now reporting that Red Bull have approached Honda about supplying an engine next season. More data for McLaren and Honda, Newey taking a back step, Prodromou in the McLaren garage- is there really that much to lose? http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/live/formula1/32543395
I think Honda would be looking for a gagging order towards Red Bull should they take their PU's Would certainly put to test McLarens "second best chassis" claim.
I also enjoyed this headline, Button: I hope Alonso annihilates me I can only imagine the fun the internet had with that headline when taken out of context
Another reason I think they should let the teams choose their own tyres is that they'd have brought more rain tyres to this race. Three sets of extremes and four sets of inters is pathetic when it looks like being a full wet weekend.
Mental, some corners have disappeared under the water. Reminds me of Malaysia 2009, serious doubts over the race.
Erm... is this race going to take place? And are these guys hardcore fan boys or just lazy And stupid...
It could likely piss it down all weekend. Hopefully there'll be some windows to squeeze in some racing between bands, but this could highly likely be a complete none event.
My feeling also is there could be no race. It's meant to be just as bad tomorrow, then still be raining pretty heavy most of the way through to race time. There's going to be very little chance for the track to drain, especially the run off areas which are already completely flooded. Saw a bit of the live feed and they had a 4x4 on track that hit a dip and the water was so deep that it was half way up the wheel. Or to put it another way, even if an F1 car got that far at low speed without aquaplaning off, the water would flood the sidepods and the driver would probably need a snorkel.
