City were far too good for us yesterday. Howard ****ed up for the goal, but it was deserved anyway, they were far the better side. They'll take some stopping this season imo.

 

I thought you guys competed really well and on another day you would have won. 2-0 flattered them. I can only think of a handful of clear cut chances for them which surprised me. Your team defended excellently

 

We didn't roll over and the first goal aside defended well, but I don't think we ever looked like winning the game tbh.

 

Yeah i wasn't think about it much when i said you guys could have won. I meant more smash and grab when you nick it 1-0!. Lukakus disallowed goal was very marginal and you guys had a header off the line. Lukaku also hit the bar from a free

they've certainly started well but we've seen them do that before. There is a long way to go yet and I sticking with my prediction of Chelsea winning it again.

 

I backed City before the start, for the sole reason that retaining the PL is such a stiff task.

 

I think the worry with City was their defence but Sagna has come in and done very well IMO, and Kompany seems to have regained his form which is massive plus.

Mangala has been shaky at times but has improved drastically, and now they have Otamendi. Their defence could now actually be their strength.

But when you have Kompany, Yaya, Silva and Aguero in your team - you're going to win games. Just like when we did when we had SAS.

 

first 5 minutes you looked quite good

no seriously if you'd someone other than kone on the left you might have got a result. a lot of thier attacks came down the right side and i felt you did ok but didn't create enough going forward either

cleverly on right wing etc...

 

Plus year three is usually when things start to go sour with Maureen and the club he manages

Pedro will help them hugely, but they are so poor defensively which is difficult to just turn around (we know all about that)!

 

Ivanovic and Matic have been awful for Chelsea - both are struggling. Both great defensive players but their form is synonymous with the teams poor form.

 

Like yesterday, if the attacking players are scoring goals rather than the team looking for a 1-0 win then it doesn't mater

In all seriousness our defence was awful for the first half of last season too. Ivanovic has been awful for a year and a half (in my head) but made up for it in goals and assists.

And matic has been a bit off but thats what happens when you're the other midfielder who can defend (he should not be playing next to cesc). Hope Willian in the middle will shore things up with his energy

I think you are soft in the middle mostely

the issue now is if pogba arrives you can solidify up a bit but otherwise fabregas dosn't defend enough.

I see i have a typo but i thought i made it clear in terms of being solid in the middle, only Matic and Willian defends. Still our defence is bad holds true as without that protection they are all slow.

Last year when we began the season we were leaking a lot of goals but scoring loads too. We only kept 3 clean sheets in our first 11 games

 

Willian is a great runner... really helps ivanovic. I was not therefore one bit shocked to see him still in when pedro debuted.

Slow is an excellent way to put it.

Ivanivic starts very high up the pitch for a player so slow. Its funny how rarely he gets exposed then.... I certainly had NO cheslea defenders in my FF team last year
