Former Liverpool assistant manager Pako Ayestaran, 53, will take charge for the rest of the season.

Valencia are 14th in the table, six points clear of the relegation zone with eight games remaining.

tbh mito what did Neville expect?, what he achieved as a player at a former club in a different country means **** all.
Fair play to the feller for having a go but unfortunately he believed in his own hype. very few top class players make the grade as managers(Dalglish being one of the exceptions), it's usually former ordinary players of the Ferguson ilk that find success.

But Sky Sports promised Gary his job was still waiting for him when it all went tits up in Spain, it's just that it happened earlier than expected.:)

Imagine knowing Remi Garde spent more time at Aston Villa than Neville's whole managerial career combined <laugh>

    This.

Are you saying that Neville was a top class player? <whistle>

Ordinary players of the Ferguson, Klopp, wenger, Mourinho ilk..:bandit:

Tbf Cruyf was a top class player who was also a top class manager.

Neville was a top class player whether you like it or not. He wasnt blessed with the best physical abilities but his brain tenacity and determination made him one of the best

Name me a better right back at the time. Admittedly hes not like the common full back of cafu or carlos or alves who was great at attacking but he was still pretty nifty and great in defence and was consistent over a whole decade.

He linked up well with Beckham in a successful Man U side, but he was well known for getting 'pulled in' to close to the CB and losing the winger or
wide midfielder. And the fact he was an England international means diddly squat considering England have done **** all for the best part of 50 years

PNeville's response on Ayesteran joining ... "I understand it might look like there's something going on. There absolutely isn't." Keep telling that to yourself Phil, keep telling that to yourself <laugh>

If Neville wasn't English he would be in same category as someone like finnan and arbeloa.

Solid reliable fullback that'll give you 7/10 every game <ok>

Nout wrong with that, I'd take finnan and arbeloa in our defence right now

  15. Gary Neville wouldn't have half the caps he's got but for injury problems for Rob Jones!

Let's just take the bias out of it.

Neville was a good consistent hard working and reliable full back.

He got 90 caps for England. Irrespective of anything else he dominated the position and only got dropped cos his body gave out not cos Johnson was better.

He was a good pundit but this has to be a lesson, think twice about hiring mates cos you are doing it cos they are mates not cos the are best candidate.

We all knew he'd end up sacked but he's been even worse I think than expected.

I think his football managerial career is now in doubt as I can't see him get a big job so will he accept a lower one.

Managers are no different to players in that they have to be the right fit for the team.

So the UEFA charge relates to calling United "full of ****"

What a cop out. This is so they don't have to look at the United chants. Pure and simple. They know if they had named it as Munich chants they would have had to look at the Murderer chants...

Watch both clubs go back to ignoring it once more....

That's........ crazy...... That's more than crazy, that is utterly obscene.

One group can chant murders while others across Europe can chant rascit, homophobic or sectarian stuff but lfc get charged with saying you are full of ****.

Well uefa is full of ****.
