Tbf it is commonplace in Germany.

Each game they go over and clap the fans regardless.

I believe it is a way of trying to bring the fans back on side with the team.

The lack of atmosphere has been mentioned by Klopp and I think Klopp is trying to change this by getting the fans more involved.

Having said that if a rival team had done this then I would definitely be taking the mick!

Its a fine line is this act. Need to do it every game otherwise this occasion will stand out.

    context?

    mr rikaard's last year.

was messi injured that year? they lost to utd in the CL and i seem to remomebr a massed utd defence at old trafford

the year prior the were joint top with real on 76 points but lost title on GD

btw henry and yaya joined in rikjaards last season... the main buys for guardiola were busquets and alves....

the likes of valdes, puyol messi pedro, iniesta ans xavi were established before guardilola took over.

so yeah he won the treble.

ok well then it was still a tight league with barca at the top in 06/07... grand.

the point remains. rikjaard was o nthe way out but the players were mostly there.

For me we are forgetting one big detail in this disucssion.

As much as cheslea and utd might want him or might be better fit for glamour reasons the DoF at CIty is a barca man who we all know.... and theres a certain ex lefc youth coach as global technical director

theres a very good fit and unlimited moeny at city.

Utd have what to support guardiola? unlimited funds but they only have wallace and gromit and no DoF so who's going to buy the players?

At cheslea theres not unlimited funds any more.. there are lots of funds but its not like the other two. they are building up their stadium but they only have london and the current squad to offer really right now

It will be interesting to see where he goes as i think it will be the thing that triggers the merry go round.

IF guardiola goes to city then...... mourinho can stick (unlikely IMO now) or end up at utd and then anchelotti comes into play... but Real madrid will sack rafa i think (too much politics even if he wins CL) so anchelotti might return after sabbatical there

and then where does that leave Utd? mourinho or van gaal.

So for me mourinho's future is tied directly to guardiola. IF i were cheslea I would not sack him unless i had guardiola signed and if he goes to City then you cannot let utd get their hands on mourinho if you are Chelsea.

The deal's already been done apparently.

Messi is a possibility imo. It'd be great to see him in the PL.

city will fake the accounts and the FFP watering down has made this highly possible. The madrid driven court is pushing him out.

Messi and guardiola in the prem with bergestien and borrell in the backgorund. you can see the city head guys have been plotting this for years.

The Chinese cash investment has made it completely possible - without needing to cook the books.

The Messi stories in the summer were more than idle paper talk imo, as I agree this has been a long time in the planning.

    Not valuable enough then :bandit:

City will take another decade to overtake the likes of Barcelona, Bayern and Madrid.

easily...... the prem is too competitive for city to have it easy enough to really dominate europe. The league drags city down to this crappy level everyone is all at.

I'm wouldn't be so sure. If Pep lands and they hand him the cheque book he could create a side capable of challenging the best around in 2 or 3 seasons imo.

dunno... I think honeslty being hard on city

    1. gk aint up there
    2. full backs aint
    3. CBs no chance
    4. CMS are limited at prem level let alone european level
    5. Yaya is yaya
    6. silva and bruyne and aguro are brilliant.
    7. sterling is not that good

I think they would need to buy guardiola 8 players min.

At barca he had a full team there and they only added one/two each year. At bayern he's made them worse if anything and they had the best team i neurope when he took over and the board had lewandowski there.

All in all... It'll be VERY interesting to see what happens

I think the current squad are capable of much more than they're delivering under Pelligrini though.

Without changing a single head Pep would get that squad walking the current PL imo.

City however strong have never been able to transfer their domestic power onto Europe. I think it is something to do with heritage and culture :bandit:. City's is in its infancy.
