Nobody said you shouldnt have an opinion. You made a claim regarding the benefits 'marketing wise' of alternating kits and you were asked to elaborate.
No I don't, it's a genuine question which you don't seem to want to answer. What does the size of the club have to do with it?
The size of the club isn't the issue. If those more well known clubs with a larger fan base, especially the Italian ones, can't make more by alternating their kits how do you suppose we will? Some of our fans wouldn't win us any brightest fans awards.
Ok seeing has you're feeling lonely If House of Fraser kept the same style shirts season after season, year after year would they increase sales ???? I know some on here hate the remotest mention of any kind of change but in our history( Yes History remember that I'm sure a few of you quite like our clubs history) We have had both striped( and for OLMs attention) non striped shirts. DEAL WITH IT QUILL
I'm well aware of what kits we've had over the years. Personally, I don't object to having the odd plain version, but the issue being discussed was that of marketing and from that point of view, we would be better off sticking with one design. The House Of Fraser analogy is nonsense.
If House of Fraser changed their branding every year would that improve corporate identity and brand recognition? You're confusing 2 very different things - unit sales and marketing.
I seriously don't give a monkeys about marketing our team in the Far East It seems a couple of seasons in the big boys league has got people on the Brandwagon.
So your not that bothered a about tradition then ??? You've been getting extremely wound up for 2 years over nothing then
Nobody gives a monkeys about our marketing in the Far East, it's a waste of time. It's marketing the club to people locally that matters, at least in the short term and we do pretty much everything possible to **** that up.
Of course I care about tradition, I've not posted anything about tradition, we were just talking about marketing principles.
Very few clubs alternate their actual kit design; we're the Tigers, our black and amber stripes are probably our most recognsible USP, why would you want to get rid of them? Club size has nothing to do with it, even teams like Cambridge Utd (who also play in black and amber) and Bournemouth wear stripes and you don't see them altering their kit as much as we do. The only reason we change the kit every year is because the club know that people will buy replica shirts if they're different, because things that are new and different sell better. It is essentially a massive money making scheme from the club. If people weren't clamouring to buy a new shirt every year, we wouldn't change the kit at all.
Well he was right, it's just a way for the club to make money, I don't know why he started spouting gibberish about the size of the club or House of Fraser. Is it worth pointing out some sort of stat as to how much of our income is generated from shirt sales? Or is the figure solely for merchandise in general?
