Just booked to see my daughter in the US from 31st Aug for 2 weeks. That means all the top teams will come to St Mary's in that 14 day period and I'll miss them all.
Look, the fixtures can't be centred around just you you know!![]()
Watford at st marys please
Edited the title to add to the excitement...
I promise I won't start a thread for that
Right, like we had when we got promoted. Oh wait, we had the better sides and got hammered. Don't buy that momentum bollocks at all.Would rather avoid promoted sides in the first couple of games when they could have momentum.
I'm with you mate, I honestly can't be doing with all the endless transfer rumours, most of which never come to anything! I really miss the days when nobody knew anything until the player was actually signed, the classic example being Kevin Keegan. At least after tomorrow we'll have some real, concrete matches to look forward to!Cheers Chilco
I know not everyone gets excited by the fixtures but **** me am I bored of this Summer already, plus we've got a (sort of) local derby to look out for as well.
Only a month until Europa draw as wellI promise I won't start a thread for that

Did you see what happened when we got a good start to the season? We were in the top 4 until February! Promotes sides will generally take time to adapt to the PL which is why we want them early. That's 1 example... Can't be assed to look but I'm sure there's plenty examples of promoted sides starting brightly, Blackpool is one I can think of off the top of my head. I think playing promoted side on opening day is dangerous territory, personally I'd rather get one of the hardest games out of the way early, or play a midtable side at home.

Give me Spurs or Liverpool at home to start the season off. Let's put down a marker early on...
Failing them, Man Utd. But let's leave Chelsea City and Arsenal til a bit later on.
That's what I'd like. What we'll probably get is a really tricky away trip to Stoke.
