They haven`t won it for ages and struggled against the yanks and the Algerians, yes today they were awesome but Holland spanked Spain so don`t rule them out.:smiley-finger007:

Still scratching my head after reading the score! Pleased for my German brother-in-law though.

Never write off the Germans (as is often said).

Absolutely amazing scoreline. Lot's of chat about Brazil switching off but some of the German passing and finishing was excellent. Be interesting to see how Brazil pick themselves up for the 3rd place playoff.

The difference was USA and Algeria had well organised defence - Brazil's was conspicuous by it's ineptitude. I said in a previous post that they'd miss Silva and so it proved!!!! Luiz especially was a disgrace to the Brazil shirt and other defenders were not closing the German players.

Part of me wants the Argentina to win because it would make a better final, but then I would like to see Messi tear brazil a new one in the 3rd/4th playoff.

I think the most depressing thing to emerge from this World Cup is the realisation that my beloved country will never win anything in my life time! I'm in my mid 40s and I was too young to remember 1966 and all that! We are light years behind the likes of Germany, Spain, Netherlands, France and the emerging South American nations. I just cant see things getting any better for us! We are now officially a Second Rate football nation! <ok>

Not bad! Betfair tweeted about someone who put £13 on the 7-1 scoreline at 999/1. I honestly don't know what kinds of people are putting money on such outrageous score lines!

probably goes against the grain slightly after last night but i personally don't really rate this german side as a great team. they were made to look extraordinary by a ghastly brazilian side who defended like amateurs. they played in a very controlled and clinical manner (as you'd expect) but really, they were handed the game (and many of the goals) on a silver plate. don't get me wrong, they are very accomplished and i think they've shown themselves to be the best side at the world cup so far, however, there could be a case of 'after the lord mayors procession' come final day. their left hand side of the team is pretty average and they are certainly suspect defensively. i've got a feeling everyone expects them to win it now but i can see another twist. we shall see...

Pretty much agree with that and the Brazilian defence went AWOL on several occasions to gift at least 3 of the goals Germans.
To be honest, I'm glad Brazil have been found wanting, as I think had the game against Colombia had a fairer referee, then Brazil may well have lost that game!!!
