Has anybody got a comparison of the red bull to the mclaren? I wonder if the '1 second gap' is still there
Andrew Benson ‏@andrewbensonf1 Ferrari upgrades this test so far: exhaust config (on car now), ft wing end plate (off again) new diffuser (on car). New rear wing tomorrow.

Can't wait for the next two weeks to go by so that we can finally see the cars driven in anger. This cloak and dagger routine does my tree in!!! I'm expecting another Vettel / Alonso ding-dong (not a reference to genitalia).
The unmarked was a medium tyre and he did a 11 lap stint with a rough average of 1:29:700 which looked a little quicker than Alonso who was on the hard and did a couple of more laps. Not sure on the RB though they didnt seem to do anything over 5 or 6 laps and flitted between high fuel and lower fuel, but dont really know? Roseberg did a 15 lap stint with an average of 1:32:400, it was earlier in the day and I think it was on the hard? Grosjean did a 9 lap stint with an average of 1:28:700 but not sure on the tyre?
My Uneducated guess of the pecking order is: Red Bull Ferrari Mercedes Lotus / Mclaren / Sauber Force India Williams STR Marussia Caterham
Nico looking like he up for a fight with Lewis this season, don't think Nico will be all buddy buddy. Seb the comedian scarely happy!
The only other race simulations we can compare to are the ones Grosjean and Webber did on day three of the last test, but those race simulations were done on a circuit that had three days of rubbering in. Benson says the track is 0.6 slower and tyre graining is worse. I don't really believe him but it's all we have to go on, so adjusting Alonso's times (before the rain), we get.... Alonso is much quicker at the start but it's on different tyres and I'm not sure there is 0.5 difference per compound like Pirelli want. I suspect like that just like last year, the harder the compound, the better it is as a race tyre because how else could Alonso be that much quicker? Ferrari are generally more competitive on high fuel so that might contribute but there must be a significant tyre effect helping Alonso. Grosjean and Alonso both did their second stints on hard tyres but Alonso was 9 laps lighter on fuel. 2.5kg of fuel burned per lap means Alonso was 22.5kg lighter at the start of his second stint which should give him a 0.9 advantage - and yet they both do mid 1:28's in the early part of their stint. It looks like Alonso was going much easier on the tyres, which could explain the missing 0.9 advantage that Alonso should have had in the early laps of the stint. Alonso taking less out of the tyres means he is doing 1:29's near the end of his stint whereas Grosjean was doing 1:31's. Overall it's difficult to get a proper conclusion but whether Ferrari are faster or slower than Lotus, it looks like the two are closely matched, and we know from the last test that Red Bull was equal to Lotus.
