Silver, it was really powering down the corner, not a twitch throughout the turn. Then again, maybe it has to do with the fuel loads (didn't notice the tyres they were on). Fingers crossed it's not an ominous sign of things to come.
I think a lot of people are seeing what they expect to see at the moment with regards to car performance. I've actually seen this kind of thing happen in so many different sports with so many people's minds playing tricks on them. They expect to see the cars higher up the status quo performing well and the lesser ones performing less so. Data and statistics can be twisted and interpreted to mean anything at this point. To me all this hubbub means as much as FP1 and FP2 on any given weekend (virtually nothing).
Good thing you're here as I didn't bother to look the first time on that video Second time looking at it: Mercedes Hard Red Bull Hard * McLaren Medium Some scary stuff from the RB9 through that corner considering the McLaren had to lift with the better tyre! *And for Red Bull that was done without a monkey seat.
How credible is this Pino guy? please log in to view this image 1st:RBR 8.5 FA @ joseluisf1 Pino Allievi is impressed by Red Bull RB9, says he has RB8 stability and degrades the compounds less than rivals. 2nd:Lotus 8 FA @ joseluisf1 Lotus is the second car that most of you enjoyed Pino Allievi, fast with all compounds and seems to have improved the reliability. 3rd: McLaren//Ferrari 7.5 FA @ joseluisf1 Ferrari says Pino Allievi quickly heats the tires, there will be no problem in Q, is stable. RB is three steps ahead in aero and exhaust./// FA @ joseluisf1: Pino Allievi says the McLaren is slow and degrades much tires. "5th": Mercedes: 7 FA @ joseluisf1 Mercedes says it has many problems, expect new pieces.
Reliable on Ferrari matters, the rest looks like his own trackside observations (which can sometimes be misleading). The best thing is he says the car will be stable in qualifying. As for the RB is ahead thing, I'm not surprised, Ferrari has openly admitted they are 2-3 months behind where they should be, and have talked of a brand new exhaust sytstem which suggests an RB exhaust.
Don't know how RBR can be 3 stages ahead of Ferrari when it's pretty much the same exhaust and front wing as last season? If I remember correctly Ferrari was leading the way with regards to front wings considering the amount of tiers they kept putting on which started from about 4 and then ending on about 6-7?? other than that it was McLaren who perfected the front wing and coanda layout over anybody else. RBR followed Sauber who followed McLaren who did look about 2-3 development steps ahead of anybody else. The tunnel will likely be one massive headache to work though if Ferrari want to chase after it, but the car is already suffering with heat issues, so having to make things even tighter down their might not be the best idea, YET!
Zetsche expects no miracles for Mercedes in 2013 24 February, 2013 Dieter Zetsche Daimler CEO Dieter Zetsche has played down expectations ahead of Mercedes’ fourth-consecutive season as a works formula one team. The Brackley based team has made big changes for 2013; swapping Michael Schumacher for Lewis Hamilton, ousting Norbert Haug and installing Niki Lauda and Toto Wolff in upper management. “It was evident in the last few years that we have had a good engine, maybe the best, and good drivers, but we were not competitive because of the chassis,” Zetsche said in an interview with Salzburger Nachrichten newspaper. “We did not get to the level that is expected of Mercedes, so the team management had to be reinforced,” he insisted. Zetsche sounded happy with Lauda and Wolff, who were recruited not just as bosses but also shareholders of the Brackley based team. But he warned: “Improvements are of course not immediately visible after the nomination of new people. “We should not expect any miracles this year. With the new engine next year, we will have more of a chance to implement what we want now,” said Zetsche. Nico Rosberg, who has been with Mercedes since the start of the current project in 2010, has sounded very confident this winter and is predicting race wins. New recruit Hamilton, however, has been much more guarded, and is quoted by Germany’s SID news agency after the Barcelona test: “The best part of our car is the engine. The weakest part is the downforce. Vettel and Alonso say that Mercedes can fight for the title? I don’t really see it like that at the moment.” (GMM)

I read that on Friday, Ferrari were testing something new on the nose but I couldn't find any pictures of it. Here it is: please log in to view this image please log in to view this image
Rather have three championships in a team that has a potential of winning more, than having two and the uncertainty of never gaining another at Ferrari.
Funny enough I was just about to link that myself. Oh dear, instead of blowing they seem to be holding their breath to improve the bottle neck flow by the looks of things, or that was their attempt towards the end. P.S already saw the video a couple of days back, great to see the Italians are still upset
Typical FIA: http://www.yallaf1.com/2013/02/24/w...d&utm_campaign=Feed: Yallaf1com (YallaF1.com) Only 9 months ago the FIA and the media were raping RBR for this and calling them cheaters, but now Williams have done it and it's called "clever" and legal? Love it more and more when people say double standards don't exist in F1 Count that on the upgrade list which RBR will likely have on the car next week since the plans for it are pretty much done.
A lot of contradictions between Mercedes employees. This along with Rosberg (we can win) vs Hamilton (we cant win). This makes me curious as to how the mercedes will actually perform come Aus.
I think that is more down to Rosberg comparing the new car to what he drove last year (which could not get much worse) and Hamilton comparing the W04 to his old McLaren (the fastest car of 2012).
Rosberg will come first, dominating every practice session, setting pole by half a second, and leading the race from start to finish. Hamilton's car will break down in every single free practice session and Q1, then the engine will let go on the last lap with him in last place. Simple really
Lauda's job is promote Mercedes as a company rather than a successful team in F1. The more money he make thems, the slower the axe will come down if they start to fail...
