    Slight blistering on the inside of the tyres though:

    Not as bad on the IRBR though:

    And I would guess those were the mediums, since I don't think they have used the hards much today.

    McLarens look the worst tbh:

    Well it's consistent race pace, that's what I'm happy about, means they have HOPEFULLY sorted that problem out after 2 years.

    Now it's Alonso and Perez who are posting some consistent times over a prolonged period, dare I say but I think the grid order is starting to take shape. Just need Kimi to do a long run to get a comparison

    hmm...it must have been a low fuel run then (20-30kgs).

    Yes: they can decide to alter the compound.

    Nice work, Forza.

    ASC: your first sentence is precisely what I was saying. Less grip = 'skating' (as you put it) = scrubbing = understeer from the front and oversteer from the rear. The scrubbing tends to cause graining (especially in cooler ambient temperatures) and can have a dramatic effect upon tyre temps – which can lead to blistering as well, although the latter is more dependent upon tyre construction than graining is. Of course, Pirelli have made a dramatic change for this season, so it will be interesting to see how things play out at Melbourne, since this test will still leave many people guessing…

    (AMuS) 16:00 Red Bull seems to go on with the racing sim right where he left off. Vettel Physio Heikki Houvinen holding the pit board counts the rounds further upward. Outstanding 31 straight starts of single GPs on hard tires.

    It's a bit of a worry for Red Bull if their fastest lap was a low fuel run. Their car is an evolution of last year's car and if Mclaren are faster than them at this point with a different design philosophy on their car it allows them (Mclaren) with more areas of improvement compared to Red Bull.

    So Mclaren have unleashed their true pace relative to others today? Maybe.

    Nice to see Valtteri Bottanen with a respectable time.

    @Diosfenix
    • Alonso fastest lap improvement in in S1 and S2 ...
    • Finally lose it all in sector 3 ... he lifted his foot [I think the lap he's referring to is Alonso's 33rd lap]
    • Both McLaren and Ferrari lost 0.130 sec per lap on hard tires ... degradation is similar in both teams.
    • 15 laps and degradation is already beginning to be exponential ...
    • Tyre degradation: Ferrari, Red Bull, McLaren and Lotus 0.130 per lap --- Mercedes 0.140 -- 0.150 Williams ...
    • Williams confirmed they have canceled the aerodynamic test in Idiada they had planned for next week, because of production problems

    @piusgasso
    • The master Piola walking around ahead of the Box of Fernando ... # techF1
    • Sergio Perez with McLaren passes very quickly and almost without clear cut ... Vettel also passes very quickly foul record Alonso we'll have to see
    • Webber has just arrived at the circuit ...
    • Sergio Perez and the adaptation with McLaren is incredible ... what a good car in the feet ...
