VÃctor González ‏@Formula1Comp Según Sky Sports Lewis Hamilton ha marcado ese gran tiempo ( 1'20"558 ) , a causa de haber usado el DRS durante toda la vuelta Translated: According to Sky Sports Lewis Hamilton has scored that great time (1'20 "558"), because of having used the DRS during all the way. Oh ooooooo....
I do think Mercedes are at least a little guilty of wanting to make some positive headlines with their recent form, they do look better than last year though.
Another guy backs it up who was also on the track: CRISTIAN F1 #3 ‏@cristianjrF1 No me lo creo.El tiempo de Lewis Hamilton ha sido "falso" ha utilizado el DRS como e la temporada 2012ahora prohibido. Translated: I do not believe it. The Lewis Hamilton has been "fake" has used the DRS as the now prohibited 2012 season. Got to love the Spanish they sure love Alonso and his rep.
Give them a break Sarge, we all know they can't handle the fear given by Lewis and Seb To them it's a bad nightmare when those 2 beat their hero.
Because they waited for the hype to arise from the UK (which it did of sorts) and then they decided to try and **** on the parade.
But then again, this is the same media that said the green flag at Brazil last year was faked and the whole outpost was abandoned...
Not sounding nasty, but I'm sick of Anderson now. First he said the Mercedes was nowhere, now it's a front runner for the title... Make up your ****ing mind Anderson!!!!!
He makes his mind up on the cars way too early. I don't believe Mercedes will fight for the title. Yes they're long run pace is ok in cold conditions but Melbourne will be much hotter. I think Red Bull are at least 0.5 seconds quicker than Merc in quali conditions.
Exactly the guy just spouts bullcrap on the relative performances of the cars. As I said the other day he's good on strategy during the races but as for reading who's quick and who's not he changes his mind every other day
Anderson was a quality journalist for Autosport, but the BBC have ruined him. I think it's a combination of making him dumb down his opinions for casuals, and making him churn out info on a regular basis, meaning he has to report stuff when there's nothing really to report. That number crunching article he did was embarrassingly amateurish.
BUSTED!! I suspected it was nothing more than a glory lap for the media. If Mercedes can only do a 20.5 with unlimited DRS they are in serious trouble, because Lotus and Ferrari (and probably Red Bull) could beat that: "Lewis Hamilton set an impressive pace on Saturday morning, more than a second clear of the field, but Mercedes' rivals were non-plussed by it. Lotus team boss Eric Boullier said they weren't concerned about it and Ferrari also believe it's well within their reach. All agreed, though, that the Mercedes was a fast car. Although, as Boullier pointed out, it's about time considering all the money they have spent."
I'll be upset if the DRS story is true, I knew from the past that Mercedes chased a bit more for the tabloids but this is taking it too far IMO by going to that sort of magnitude with Lewis. It only adds more pressure on the drivers which in a way all the blame goes on to them for the rest of the season.
I don't get why Merc would want to put in a glory run. What do they possibly think they could gain by it? It's not like they are short on cash and topping the times using DRS isn't exactly going to shower them in positive press. I blame Whitmarsh.
