Yeah but the referee obviously thinks the striker reached the ball first if he gave a foul! I'm not sure you understand me. I'm saying if the referee thought the striker had the ball for a split second and got clattered by the keeper from the side, who then made contact with the ball taking it to the defender it's a red as he's about to slot the ball in or be around the keeper. Not sure how good my explanation is but hopefully you understand what I mean.

Yeah I think so, but the referee saw the position of the ball and gave a yellow. Of course where the ball went made it completely obvious that the keeper had taken the ball first and should never have been a penalty!
 
Unlucky but clinical counter attack. I know it was from a goal kick and a clearance error but counter attack in the sense Japan had just been absolutely all over them. Counter punch rather than attack I suppose
