Stead and Baldock would/should propel us up the table with JET playing behind them.

We could do an awful lot worse

We need a Stead like player - not sure we could afford the wages though?

Be great to have him back, but because he wanted to go back north for family reasons I doubt it will happen. Unless he now agrees south is best.

Do we Feckers like, I loved big John and his work ethic was fantastic, but the bloke just could not score goals, part of the reason we struggled so much in the Championship, and for a striker that is how you are measured, and he came up just a little bit short too often. Shame

Yes - agree about lack of goals - I meant someone who would run the channels - though since SC has taken charge Sammy does that far more now

Bristol City manager has said that he needs players to keep the side in League One. A striker, two midfielders and a defender are his main transfer targets.

Jay Emmanuel Thomas will move to Nottingham Forest for 2 million and this money will be used to improve the Bristol City squad. Sam Baldock will only move to a top championship club.

Jet moving on will not come as a surprise and it was only a matter of time and anyway we can't build our future on a single player that wants to be somewhere else. If he should command a 2 million fee I just hope we spend it wisely rather than throw it away on non committed players as in our recent dealings under previous managers.

My biggest concern would be is do we have a core on which to build our safety in this division and, if so, what about the future? Based on our supposed lack of funds are we in any position to buy decent players and would they even want to come here? I reckon this could be one of our most interesting transfer windows for some time but only if our owner has finally come to the understanding that the supporters deserve better than this and he is prepared to act more positively then he has done for a long time.

Happy New Year to you all and best wishes for everyone involved with Bristol City FC.

If he goes he goes.......but he won't be tearing Championship teams apart like he is in this league. Not saying for one moment he isn't good enough, we all know he is, but just ask the Ipswich and Cardiff fans and they nearly all say he is too slow or lazy.
Personaly I think...and hope ......he will stay.

To be fair they were playing him on the wing and he was given a role like Adomah. We knew after only 2-3 games of seeing JET he is no winger and he will not run up and down the wing all day like Albert. Play him in the hole or behind the lone striker and he will score 17 goals in 4 months. I believe he would do the same in the Championship. Ipswich said he had the skill and flair but tended to give up. My opinion was JET got bored with his role and the odd time he did what he wanted to do he impressed. Thankfully SOD gave him the role that JET likes and we are reaping the rewards.

As for Ipswich getting a % if we sell JET. I don't think they do? doesn't that only work when you buy a player not player swap. I think if we receive 2 million we will get it all
