Just another point Mike from last night. During the second half there was an incident during the match at 1-0 to City. Ball crossed from JET and Baldock hit the post, ball bounced back, Gillingham keeper knocked it upwards and Jordan Wynter headed it on to the top of the bar when according to Radio Bristol commentary, it was easier to score. He thumped the ground in disappointment/frustration but a few minutes later he was back in front of goal to get his first ever senior goal and City's second.
Sounds like we have a gem in 19 year old Jordan Wynter - never say, seems like a very good footballer and 100% trier.

If you look on the rumours website Billy Sharp is linked with about 10 clubs - I still feel it's highly unlikely

Jay Simpson is more likely - he would be a good player in League 1 - the side needs a bit of pace in it

Would be nice but Somehow I doubt that under SCMP we could manage the wages had we got 1.2 Million plus then we might have just managed it but seems we got about 1M

RR where is the source for this, or is it as I suspect with all our links with BS, just that!!
I hope I am wrong and you are right as with him on board we could rip this league up, provided of course our loanee curse does not strike again!!!!!

Southampton want Sharp off of their books completely, if they did accept a loan deal they would expect his wages to be paid in full. Something I know we couldn't do under SCMP rules because he is on 30,000+ a week apparently and we can not cover that amount because we have to pay employers National Insurance of an extra 11/12%

Bristol City talking to Jay Simpson regarding a move to Ashton Gate. City now have more funds available for wages under FFP restrictions following the transfer of Albert Adomah.
Billy Sharp is a target for Bristol City on a seasons loan.
Sean O Driscoll has worked with the player many times before and now has the funds to take him on board for the season after the sell of Albert Adomah to Boro.
It is rumoured that the player himself is keen to come as well as his family are living in the Southampton area and he would not have to uproot them to play at City
I can't see that happening no dis-respect to city but Billy is too good for league 1 I remember it was nice winning a lot of games but I did"nt want Saints in league 1 I believe also that Billy has stated his desire to stay and fight for a chance in the premiership n if not premiership then championship he"s too good for league 1
He wants to move back to Sheffield and is going up North. His partner wants to.
How many times does Cortese have to say he will not be leaving on loan before people start to listen. He wants Sharp off the books and out of his mind for good.

Perhaps Billy is one of those rare birds that actually puts his family and football before all the other negative thing that normal players seem so eager to grab no matter what the repercussions to their image. But let's get real here and say that Billy Sharp coming to play for Bristol City is a pipe dream - or is it?? Never say never!

Never say never is right People said that about David James and Jay Emmanuel-Thomas as well what I will say is it is unlikely but not impossible also Southampton want him off their books so it would appear that even on a loan deal we would have to fund all of his wages and with a reported wage of £30,000+ we would find that as close to impossible as it would be likely to get under SCMP unless there was a way to divide his wages into two parts and employ him in the Academy as well. Now would that get past the Football League I don't know but there will be a way found if S O'D says he is the missing piece of the jigsaw, now Sean likes Sharp and his way of playing but would he be prepared to gamble everything on one player?

But that was not a all eggs in one basket gamble there was more money available for wages etc so if it went tits up due to injury another player could be brought in on loan thats what I mean by a gamble everything on one player Sean strikes me as more thoughtful than that.

Billy Sharp is not worth £30k a week people and at that price we should leave well alone. We are no longer (if we ever were) in a position to pay that sort of wage. Even at £10k a week he is a gamble under the leagues and the clubs new directives. If the price is right and not a gamble and he comes to us then great, but we cannot and should not break the bank over him and tbh I think SOD knows this.

Jay Simpson is arguably a better bet - we need a bit of pace?

Wouldn't totally disagree with you Smh though Sharp has a degree of pace plus some skill I can't see him playing in the red shirt at AG unless some very fancy negotiation takes place regarding his wages. I just hope that we see the new player/players signing on the dotted line soon. Striker and a new midfielder/wide player auxillary striker. Perhaps I should give odds on the betting game?
