Just beat me to it, I think it is a shame, I rather like the red one this season and in one way I am not a fan of going back to an old shirt however it does save me £40 which is a good thing but I would not think that is good for the club. Personally I would like a completely brand new design for next season, maybe something along the lines of the blue and black as that is the best one in my opinion.

The kit is already available for purchase on the club shop. Just shows how many Gills fans wanted the blue back. I voted for the blue away kit but like I said this one suits me fine enough.

Personally I'm please it's going back to blue. Way it should be. The red one can now be consigned to history as our league winning centenary shirt and it will always hold a special place for all Gills fans.

Last seasons shirt will always be special but I said after the last match I wouldn't wear it again so I'm glad it's back to the old blue!

But guess it does make the discount offer for ST holders a bit less special as I bet a lot of us will already have the shirt

BTW do we get special sleeve badges as L2 winners?

Roy

From a marketing point of view, in order to maximise revenues on the new amount of season ticket holders wouldn't have a completely new design have been better?

The only good thing about the red kit is that I'm saving money this season. Don't need to purchase the back to blue because I already have it, so after the £25 increase in ST. I overall save £35 by not having to purchase another kit incentive this season.

I liked the red, but if we are going back to blue would rather have had a new one as i think the blue with white pinstripes is a bit bland!

I'm staggered that Scally seems to have missed an opportunity to make a lot of money.

Do we know for certainty that the kit is exactly the same as the 'old' shirt - I haven't found a definitive answer. The OS site has an advert with Matt Fish in the 'old' kit - but usually 2 or 3 of the players 'pose' in the kit that is to be used.

The kits are already for sale on the club shop and it is the same kit as 11/12. When it first went on they had put that there was white shorts instead of blue but they reverted about an hour later to say blue shorts with white socks.

I am glad they have now amended the original text on the O/S it was very mis-leading. It is indeed the old pinstripe blue shirt. Not overly mad on that but anything is better than the red and I think Chairman Scally has missed an opportunity this season.

We moan if he does and we moan if he don't but were alwaysright <laugh>

maybe a decent compromise would've been a new away shirt, still new stock to sell, and would probably sell more than your average away shirt due to the lack of a new home kit

In the true spirit of the moaner I think those shirts had the small neck holes!

Mind you myself and the throwoff are thinking of wearing the Mad dog(s) barmy army T shirts for a few games!

Missing football now - next landmark June 19th I think?

Thank you Mr. brb - it's not as if I wasn't getting enough ridicule on GC - although to be fair, I did say on there that I wasn't bothered if I received ridicule for the heart wrenching story about which I started my thread - and, despite a good number of decent people, the usual suspects eventually got out of bed !

Yes I noticed you was trending <laugh> shame on you getting them up so early.

Well lets see how we start the season and see the ritual based fans call for the return to red. Is there a cost in having a Hirt designed or do we think there was a massive over dock of the blue shirt from before that we need to shift?

In more important areas, well be playing in pink again!

I have both the blue pinstripe shirt and last seasons red, i shall be wearing the red next season as its a much smarter shirt, but hey ho its all about opinions i suppose

Providing the design is better, I'm not fussed. The annoyingly tight neck hole wound me up no end and made it a tad uncomfortable but I have no problem with the design. I invested in the pink so not sure whether or not I will be buying a blue one.
