Ha, I don't take these references serious either, thats why I posted them as I laughed when I read them, as international football, great scorer in la liga, two aspects which would have been used to decide if Soldado was worth 26 million, I'm fairly confident when we decided to move for the player too much was made of such references and we ignored the simple facts Soldado isn't the type of striker needed, especially at his age for a big move abroad.

Sure Michu is having a quieter season, much like Swansea overall, probably doesn't help that hes out injured but ironically he did earn his first call up to spain!

How often is it that you can win a game 2-0 and still think "What a crock of ****"?

I know it was "job done" and on that note of course I'm happy to progress through to the knockouts but even with a strong team against a side that the commentator said had just been relegated, we looked so bog-standardly average that it annoys me to see the talent we have looking well below par. Relying on a own goal to open up the scoring just says it all. And the subs? Don't even get me started on them.

He got criticised for not being happy when we lost 6-0, God knows what the reaction would be if he told our team we weren't good enough after winning 2-0! <yikes>

Come on YV, he should have done what Phil Brown done, took them to the pitch, sat in the cold and told them off.

The players should be ashamed of themselves Lol

What epitomised the problem that this paralysing fear that AVB has infected the squad with,
was the second goal. The players are allowed to try and pass and move like that for 90 mins.

He was looking for a morale boosting/rallying performance prior to Sunday.
But he got another of the recent PL shows (unfortunately) .
Coupled with the Vert sub that risked a Rose pt 2.

I was more disappointed not to see Bale MK2 start the game. When will he be unleashed. If Avb starts him soon he can covert him to play narrow. After playing him at left back.

Yesterday was the game. Especially the 2nd half when the Anzhi game was known to be a draw.
The last two group games were a good chance to give Academy players a go.
But then I have been informed that of all the Academy players I would like to see have a go,
Veljkovic is not registered (I assume a "home grown" player quota problem for UEFA tournaments) .

Based on the criteria, he'll be "home grown" this time next year, as he will have trained with the club for three years prior to his 21st birthday.

They probably learnt more from the Bench. Saving themselves the frustration of playing in an Avb team then wondering if they will be picked again.

    :) <ok>

Its the most un-Levy type signing of his tenure imo, very odd. I still think he's a very good player, if we played our football deeper, wider and brought teams out, then moved it quickly (emphasis on quickly!) into gaps and spaces behind we'd see better from him. Hang on, better ask power if I know what I'm on about first! :D

If power had his way, when signing up we would have to provide him with our Cv and print out from the revenue just to confirm our background and then assigned posting privileges based on our qualifications!!

Soldado is a good player and that header against Newcastle which Krul pulled off a magnificent save could have helped his confidence but then he misses a sitter second half. I actually feel a tad sorry for the guy as he's been thrown into a situation and being made to look average.
