Thanks pN. Brindisi goes to the Sales this December so the list gets smaller. But they have a useful cot in Skilful (ex Prowess) who pays his way, and the New Approach 2yo filly Talent may come on. Prowess has started well and it's no surprise she's going to the best sire they're using. Lakatoi (dam of Staying On) had an unsold Dalakhani colt at the October Sales and is capable of throwing something useful. They seem to have used Duke of Marmalade a lot. He needs to show next year that he's a decent sire. Thanks again
Couple more mares and then I'll shut up:- La Persiana Gravitation Nirvana (all above De Walden mares at Avington Manor) Super Sleuth Cut Short Endorsement Independence Off Message Apparel Fraulein Sister Maria Mischief Making Cross Channel (believe all the above to be Cliveden)
La Persiana – covered by Lawman Gravitation – covered by Rock of Gibraltar Nirvana – covered by Sakhee’s Secret Super Sleuth – covered by Dansili Cut Short – no recorded covering (produced a Dansili filly in late April so may have been rested) Endorsement – covered by Teofilo Independence – covered by Oasis Dream Off Message – she was sold in December 2010 to Stud Farm 711, a Greek owner Apparel – covered by High Chaparal Fraulein – covered by Exceed and Excel Sister Maria – must have been sold as her 2012 foal (by Selkirk) was born in Spain! Mischief Making – covered by New Approach Cross Channel – her 2011 foal was born in the USA so I presume she is still over there
Thanks pN, that's brilliant. Lady Howard de Walden seems to be trading down. The first two mares are really jewels as the first is a listed winning half-sister of Grand Lodge and a granddaughter of Magic Flute. While the second is a Group 3 Galileo filly out of a half-sister to Fame and Glory. Stoute has an unraced 2yo by Dansili out of La Persiana called Persepolis, while there is a yearling called Djinni by Invincible Spirit. Gravitation has her first foal by Orotorio called Galaxy as a 2yo next year. Cliveden Stud seems to plod along. One promising 2yo in Singersongwriter, and that appears the best traditional family now. The bought in German family of Fraulein seems to do well but all the yearlings were sold this year with a colt by Cape Cross out of Mischief Making going for 190,000gns. I hope they won't regret selling Sister Maria's yearling filly out of Selkirk for 170,000gns. Thanks again
