    <laugh> I do not think the race of champions had one iota to do with the decision. The decision had been made ages ago.

    I hope Senna gets the Williams seat although I feel that Sutil will get it. Senna deserves a proper chance in F1, it will be sad if he left with a season in the worse car on the grid and a bit part in a crap Renault. It is even worse seeing as that drivers such as Trulli and Maldonado have got seats when they are past it/crap while Senna has at least shown a glimps of ability. The same goes with Schumacher, he is past it, has no future in F1, and is just using his name and sponsorship to buy him a seat to stop himself getting bored in retirement while filling another seat that otherwise could be taken by a driver who has got a possible future in F1 and now could not have one.

    If it was decided ages ago why was Petrov still wearing Renault gear during the race of champions if he wasn't part of the team anymore.

    Why dress him up if it was already decided? Strange how just a few days after the race of champions the decision was given out to the team and media.

    Petrov's Renault contract is likely to last until 31st December, thus he is contracted to advertise Renault's (Lotus') sponsors until that time. Just because a driver isn't going to be racing for you next year doesn't mean you can't still use him to advertise whilst it is still this year.

    It's like how drivers were sometimes allowed to test for their new team in December (one month before their current contract ran out) provided they wore plain white overalls with no sponsors or branding on them. A driver (and his car) are essentially moving billboards.

    You can't seriously think that even Boullier would use the Race of Champions to compare drivers, it is meaningless. <doh>

    As for Petrov still wearing Renault gear, he was still under contract at Renault and in that contract it will say that he has to wear Renault gear in any public events. Everyone has known for months that Grosjean had the seat at Renault, Boullier even said that if Kubica did not come back then Grosjean would get the seat.

    I agree 100%. Maldonado has shown this season he is rubbish, cant even live with an old pensioner such as Rubens! He is there because of sponsorship! Trulli is tooold for it as well! Guys like Bruno deserve a proper chance in F1 as I believe he has great potential :D
