I'm trusting Brawn about Mercedes' tyre wear, so I voted for Schumacher ("Other" on the poll). I'm regretting it already - the race winner is very difficult to predict.

    Vettel 8/1
    Schumacher 10/1

These look good odds but I just don't know any more.

With a different team winning every race so far maybe Vettel is a good pick.

Well Seb did do well on a 2 stopper today, but he really has to use that new exhaust to fight the McLarens like Webber. He might not be the quickest at this time, but his times should be quite consistent to put them under pressure before pitting.

For the record my "other" refers to Michael Schumacher.

gone for lewis.he should outqualify jenson again, and the mercs might split them 2 in quali.which means one of them could hold jenson up before their tyres start to go,and that will allow lewis to extend his lead.
i think lewis had good race pace in china, but being too hesitant trying to overtake perez lost him alot of time.
also he looked after his tyres well enough despite being in alot of traffic.

I think RB will massively struggle here. Having had no time to improve the car, and with four huge straights, it could be a tough one for them.

I wonder if they'll give Vettel the Webber-spec layout or if he'll stick with what he had in Shanghai?

I reckon this could be Buttons race.

Not getting heat into tyres was reason for his poor qualifying. not an issue here.

Then it will be about preserving them in the race, his strongest point.

I'm going to predict Hamilton comes 3rd. If I predict it it won't happen and hopefully he'll come 2nd or maybe even 1st :)

Clear weather all weekend should play into McLaren's hands to be honest, they have the best all round car.

I think he'll stick with the Shanghai spec with there being such a short gap between races. I think they'll probably go with Webber's spec long term, they've got a three week break including the test at Mugello coming up to refine it, they should be able to get it sorted out in that time.

    Getting back on topic. <whistle>
I think Mclaren and Red Bull will be the strongest here just because I see Mercedes having Tyre issues again.

50/1 on Kobayashi, 40/1 on Perez, 50/1 on Grosjean. All tempting all-or-nothing odds.

defniately gone for hamilton, with the mercedes' new pace i think that qualifying will be a lot closer similar to china. if China had started in the order that they actually qualified in then hamilton probably would have got second place and have been able to push nico for a possible win.
when they qualify jenson is usually slower, so with new fast cars able to challenge i think he will struggle in the race because his qualifying pace creates more work for him to do

Going for Rosberg again. I think Mercedes will do well in qualifying again and if Rosberg gets out in front he'll be very hard to overtake. He's on a high and many debut wins are followed straight away by a 2nd win.

That's really up to Vettel, who bizarrely, has so far eschewed Newey's directional concept. Meanwhile, Webber has taken it upon himself to steer Newey's development.

If Vettel 'comes back' into the fold, by accepting that his sense of direction was wrong, he will be perceived as following Webber's - which will require a large swallowing of pride; and if he does so, he will then be chasing Webber's set-up. This is never a popular idea with a big ego, and it usually confines the 'chaser' to languishing behind the development 'leader', with frequent head scratching at the data - since these preferences are heavily influenced by driving style
    .

No wonder Vettel's sounding frustrated: he seems to have out-manoeuvred himself…

However, my advice to him right now would be to swallow his pride, fall into line behind Webber and learn how to get more from this car now, rather than continuing headlong into what is beginning to look like a dead-end. He may not like it, but if he has real faith in his own ability, he should feel he can get on terms with Webber again, reasonably quickly.
