    Some of these wages are ridiculous, we are talking about a footballer earning a million pound a month, hope the authorities bring in wage caps. Can't wait till the money runs out which it has to eventually.

    quite depressing when someone on a fairly normal 20K a year wage has to work 12 years to get what aguero "earns" in a week.

    I'm not saying 50k a week is a ****ty wage, i'm saying that it is to a lot of players at the top level.

    These financial fair play things won't happen. The big clubs will opt out of the UEFA Champions League in 2014, once the current contract is up and form their own European Super League/Cup.

    This is why the clubs are still spending stupid money.

    I think it's a bit stupid having an official wage limit, players' worth should be evaluated on their quality. Ashley should assign Pardew a wage budget for the squad and let Pardew divide that as he sees fit. Enrique would be good value on a £60k contract (although I think it's international recognition he's after), as would Barton on a two year extension. I'd rather have not signed Marveaux and used his wages to extend Barton and Enrique's contracts, that's where I think a wage cap fails, IMO we're spending more but we're in a worse position than we might be.

    this, imagine if we had a wage cap in the prem, top players would bugger off,

    But i do think it would make the league more competitive if we all had to work on the same money, surely then academy's would become even more important,

    Exactly, think FIFA should bring in the wage cap, sure Ronaldo and Kaka are on a hefty sum at Real Madrid.
