He's bullied Skrtel pretty much every time - but that's not praise on Benteke. It's criticism of Skrtel. Benteke got little joy when Can was on him - when Benteke moved centrally, he was far more effective. And I wouldn't take Benteke. Not consistent, and has a limited ceiling of potential. Not suited to our style - would be a good plan B.
Not strong enough? That seems a weird reason to give for not being interested in Benteke. I would have thought that his injury record and his long barren spells would be bigger concerns. That also implies that whoever we're looking at is stonger than Benteke, i.e. a beast. Who are we going for then? Akinfenwa? #scoredagainstus
Not strong enough doesn't necessarily mean physical strength. It could mean mentality, quality or even just generally fitness. It does seem a daft thing to say though. Weed have had a much better season with Benteke in the squad instead of Mario, Rickie and Fabio!
