Interesting stats that I've just come up with in replying to a post on 'The Ugly Inside'.
A win tomorrow will see us reach 92 points which equates to an average of 2 points per game across the season. A fantastic achievement I think you'll agree considering that across the four divisions the only other teams that are in a position to achieve such an average are Brighton (who have already achieved it), Man United (need 3 points from their remaining 3 games), Chelsea (need to win at least 2 of their remaining 3) and Arsenal (need to win all of their remaining 3).
On top of this, a resounding win against Walsall would go a long way to helping us secure the best GD across the four divisions as the current top 5 is as follows:
Saints +46
Brighton +45
QPR +40
Man United +38
Chelsea +38
(although of course Man United and Chelsea still have 3 games to play compared to the 1 remaining for Saints, Brighton and QPR)
All in all it's been a great season so here's to a cracking finale tomorrow afternoon
