Not so bad. The addons will be big, but if he triggers them he'd be worth it. Any mention of a potential total price?
Sky Sports have just reported that it's bee decided that we have to pay £2m for Ince. 35% of the fee goes to Liverpool.
Maybe our deliberate ploy for him to play poorly up until now has paid off. Now he can start scoring haha
It's a crock of ****. He was out of contract and no longer a Blackpool player yet Oyston pockets £2m for him. It's an insane rule.
On the flip side, I think it's a very good rule. It helps encourage clubs to take on and develop youth, with the security of knowing that they won't be left empty handed if they produce a gem. It's a shame that this money will just end up in Oystons pocket, but that's not really our problem.
So small clubs should spend time and money training and developing players for the rich big clubs to come and pluck from them for nowt?
This rule about compensation is bullshit, he signed for Blackpool from Liverpool for a fee. Therefore Liverpool gave up their right of compensation when sending him off to Blackpool, surely? In all honesty, I think you should only get compensation if the player came through your academy from a certain age, surely because of this rule we would of had to pay Arsenal a compensation fee for Conor Henderson when we signed him? As he was released and then we signed him, but I don't remember us paying a fee?
"@HumbersideSport: Sources close to #hcafc have confirmed that an agreement worth up to £2.3m has been agreed with Blackpool for Tom Ince, avoiding a tribunal."
They should get them under contract like they already do in the vast majority of cases. In Ince's case, they shouldn't have agreed to a loan deal for the last 6 months of his contract. He and his dad ripped them off there. Probably so they could get a big signing on fee in the summer.
I read somewhere that we had budgeted around £4-5 million in the summer for Ince.. Now that its decided we're only playing £2m, do you think Bruce will be given the remaining £2-3m for a new player? edit; Here's what I read.. "Should the tribunal find a middle ground between the two clubs, the Tigers could be looking at an outlay in the region of £3m to £4m for the England under-21s international. That rough sum was accounted for by City in this season’s budget and will not have any bearing on Steve Bruce’s plans to strengthen in the January window." So hopefully Bruce has 1 or 2 million left over from the budgeted Ince money.
We offered them £2m in the first place, we've effectively just signed him for the amount we always wanted to pay.
