And you just have no idea, stop feeling sorry for yourself you made a stupid comment. First game of the season and one of our players is saying the same as Chelsea players did last season, and you see such an observation as melodramatic, quit the ****, its not exactly team spirit is it.
I am aware of the changes in the 2 matches, the point is why we have no Ade type forward, the season has started, and we've known this all summer. Hudd was nowhere near as **** as Jenas preseason, yet the latter makes the bench. Caulker played in bigger games for Swansea, and if a captain of Ajax needs protecting from an away game v Toon well we may aswell give up mate! Its never too early to be critical, and Wigan played some good football! Yes its early days, yes we're missing some players, but you can still utilise what you have the best way possible, not seen that yet.
Couple of things went wrong, from my neutral point of view. 1. Andre Villas Boas selected Lennon. I'm sorry, you guys probably see far more of him than I do but what I've seen of him over his entire career, the guy is an awful, awful winger. That hoof clearance from Kaboul to Lennon should have been swiftly pinged over to Bale for 1-0 then the match ends up a different story, but no, this guy is so pathetically poor on the ball that he cannot spot the most obvious passes. Sell him, get Johnson, sorted. 2. Ben Arfa had a great day at the office. This just happens sometimes and when it does there's not many who can control him. When you guys have Parker, VDV, Dawson and Vertonghen starting as well as Modric/his replacement then I'm sure you'll play a lot better than that, especially if it means you don't have to rely on a supply line containing Aaron Lennon.
Levy holds the credit cards so the signings ultimately come down to him. The team played some good football yesterday and that's a positive, despite the result. Even Vidic struggled when he first arrived in the Premier League, Vertonghen might have been fine but it is a risk to play him. Caulker went to the Olympics and then international duty with England so AVB hasn't much of a chance to work with him, you can disagree with his decision if you want but you can surely see it's not without reason. Oh and before it's mentioned, we didn't have much choice with Sandro, it was him or Jenas out of our match squad. And finally, Huddlestone. All we know is that he's been shouting his mouth off on Twitter and was upset at not being picked to play, nothing shocking there from a football player. The rest is your opinion trying to connect the dots in the dark. We have no idea why Huddlestone was left out, it might be because he's ignoring a diet he's been put on again, training poorly or simply not fit enough. I thought Huddlestone looked in good nick in preseason, considering he'd been out for a year, but I could still see Huddlestone struggle to make the 90 considering the amount of work Sandro and Livermore had to do. Assuming the worst about AVB's choices isn't giving him a fair chance.
I'm no fan of Lennon and would have played VDV instead of him, but I thought he played ok. I do hope VDV is back for Wednesday, probably I guess instead of Jake, but too early to call yet.
I couldn't understand why Caulker and Rose were at the game at all, if they weren't in the squad. Why not use them in the U21s/Reserve game? The same could be said of Bassong, Huddlestone, Button and probably a few others that I can't remember, off the top of my head. You're allowed three older players and it's game time of some description, so why not use it?
My point re. Hudd was to be on the bench, I wasn't suggesting to give him 90, not sure where you draw that from, that should have been quite clear in the OP, acknowledging Jake and Sandro to start. If he felt that way at being omitted, do you honestly believe he'd go to the lengths of putting it on Titter and say nothing else...no need to be joining dots in the dark, its already happened, and I can tell you it hasn't gone down well, if it proves to be a fake twitter account then we'll know in due course. The point if this is true is that Tom feels unjustly treated over the matter, maybe he wasn't contacted and informed of the team selection correctly. If thats the case its another thing AVB was criticised for with Chelsea players, so hasn't learnt. If no-ones bothered by similar traits, thats fine by me, we'll just wait till he pisses off someone more prominent before we all talk about it...well, you lot can, I already have!. And I'm sorry, but every team played some good football at some point over the weekend, that just isn't a plus point.
what did the tweet say exactly? I went on his twitter and couldn't see anything particularly bad, has it been removed?
You're forgetting that Dany Rose is suspended PNP. With regards to the others, I do agree, although I think the club would be wise to follow the example of some other clubs and have the under 21 game after the 1st team game rather than before. That way, the 19th man (in Saturday's case, Caulker), could play for the uder 21's if he missed out for the 1st team, as opposed to not being dared risk beforehand.
It has since been deleted, but the gist of it was a moan about not being picked when he was fully fit, and then said "respect has to be earned before given", a clear dig at AVB.
Ah, that explains why Rose was at the game in normal clothes, SC. Ta. I forgot about that entirely, but I didn't realise that you couldn't play in the reserves if you were suspended, to be honest. Seems a little pointless nowdays. Very true about moving the reserve games.
Oh, naughty boy. Also, not a good sign fullstop, let alone so early in the season. Hudd's been around quite a while, he must have a lot of mates in the squad. Isn't he bessies with Little Aaron?
It hasn't been deleted. The link in my post still works. Its also on the many Twitter archiving sites - nothing gets deleted on the internet
It's still on there, but you have to change the Tweets setting to All. http://twitter.com/TomHuddlestone6/with_replies "Respect needs earning before being given #Fact" Followed it up over the next couple of days with the following replies to questions about his fitness: "@J4MIEPREECE_: @TomHuddlestone6 are you back 100% fitness yet?" Yeah trained all pre season so yep" "@Lawrence_Poster: @TomHuddlestone6 are you injured again???" Nah I'm fit mate" Doesn't look good, does it?
I always view anyone that uses twitter to make digs as a complete and utter bell end, yet it doesn't send out good signals about the team spirit in the camp if players are using it as a way to make digs about our manager already.
He has updated: "People should realise that players have a life outside of football.... ...... not every comment\tweet\action is to do with football!! Plus jumping to assumptions is never good"
Haha, found it now, i'm not really a twitterer. It was on the 16th (thursday). Seems likely it could have been non-football related as subsequent tweets have suggested
