I listen to Now albums in the car as that's what my kids want to listen to. Subjecting them to my music would be both selfish and irresponsible. I don't need to go on the web to search out good contemporary music. The fact that you do have to search for it pretty much reinforces the point I made so thanks for that. There's been plenty of good music about for decades, much of it easily accessible before t'internet was invented. I'm off for a nap. Might treat myself to a Werthers Original later. Enjoy listening to your X Factor greatest hits album.

Stereophonics are an interesting example. Very good 90's band, their debut album was great. They gradually got worse and were **** in the 00's and are still ****.

The Seattle Sound and what it inspired was great.

Luvgonzo, have you ever watched the film "Singles"?

I found the bowl headed, knuckle dragging Manc rock / pop era of the 90's ****ing ****e in the main tbh.

That said every generation says the decade of their teen angst is the 'best' musically. They're invariably wrong as well.

Everything is relative. Night Changes is decent in comparison to the rest of the Fizz Dexter (ft. Celidh Blossom) ****e you whipper snappers get excited about nowadays.

I don't listen to music on the Internet when I drive without my children in the car. Clearly that's what I need to do in order to find the music you're listening to! Today I drove without the kids in the car and I was listening to Hendrix (who was dead before I was born).

I think the unprovoked *****phile accusation pretty much sums up your immaturity.

Yeah loved that film, lay off the Phonics though they are friends of mine #namedropping

Seriously though they still produce a good tune on every album and a best of is really good but I don't rate their albums.

I was a teenager during the 70's. I had four elder sisters who grew up in the 60's. FirstIi said Slade and T Rex were better than the Beatles and Motown, then Led Zep and Deep Purple, then Pink Floyd and Yes, then the Pistols and The Clash, then the Beat and The Specials and The Police.... and a just a few years later my niece was claiming Michael Jackson and The Smiths were better than the Beatles, then The Happy Mondays and Massive Attack were better than the Beatles....

Truth of the matter is, the 60's still stack up better than any decade. In my book, anyway.
