My 6 year old daughter likes 1D. There are worse bands she could be interested in. She also likes The Vamps. 1D's music is much better than The Vamps.

My wife likes Take That, the 1D of our generation, and always goes to see them when they do a tour despite the fact that she is now an old woman... Not sure 1D will last as long as Take That have!

My 9 year old lad likes Ed Sheeran and has started playing some of his music on the guitar. I think that's pretty awesome and have told him that when he can play the Hendrix version of All Along the Watchtower my work is pretty much done.

To the person who said 90's music was ****e: NO!

90's music was only ****e in the way that 80's music was ****e ie it was of its time and therefore brilliant.

The Gallaghers may be bell ends but Oasis's first two albums were huge and the soundtrack to an interesting time in the UK. I was at their seminal Maine Road gig and am not ashamed to say that it was incredible.

A lot of music today is ****e. I know that sounds like an old man thing to say but it's true. "Uptown Funk" is considered a great song. I rest my case. Why does every song have to "feature" another artist? Are they all so talentless that they need a producer to manufacture a song by mixing it and featuring another talentless artist?

My kids get the Now albums and the content of them is gradually getting worse. In fact on the last one, 1D's "Night Changes" is one of the few decent songs.

    Harrumph.

Yes it was mostly ****, I stand by that. When you think of some of the bands and artists that were out in the decade after they **** over most stuff from the 90s.

I'd say your problem is listening to "Now" albums, which is mostly for teenagers, instead of searching for stuff you might like on spotify, youtube etc. Because of the internet we get the chance to hear so much more music from all types of artists and not just the stuff that would normally be in the chart or on top of the pops as it was in the 90s. If you're too lazy to search for new music then you can't really blame today's music for that. Stop being a lazy git and actually search for the type of music that you like and I reckon you'd be pleasantly surprised by some of the newer bands and artists out there.

The thing with 90's stuff is it's good sing-a-long music. That's what like best about it.. always good when comes on because you can sit there and really belt it out!

Some of the 90's stuff was great, Oasis, Stereophonics, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Pulp, The Verve.

Pulp Different Class was the one for me though best Brit album of that era by far and still a great album today, I still get a buzz listening to E's and Whizz.

I lost my friends, I dance alone, it's six o'clock I wanna go home.
But it's "no way", "not today", makes you wonder what it meant.
And this hollow feeling grows and grows and grows and grows
And you want to phone your mother and say
"Mother, I can never come home again
'cause I seem to have left an important part of my brain somewhere
Somewhere in a field in Hampshire". Alright!
