If you've any sense i would take that out of any arguement mate. Nobodies dismissing what the protestors/campaigners have done. My question is all those leaflets given out, so its known why!! Yet there was literally zero support in the West stand or North. Not that much in the East or South. What next. People dont care. Stop all that FA Cup bollocks too. Either way my life would change zero.
So that would be a few potential supporters for the crusade that are lost to you. Probably flat capper types that you could well do without. Keep up the good work though, most people seem to like Hull City.
Thanks for your guidance, much appreciated. Yes I do consider I do have some sense and all feedback is welcome and will be borne in mind when at Everton and no doubt back at the KC vs Sunderland when Im hoping I shall be wearing my new scarf!
The apathetic should let the campaigners get on with it, and stop trying to derail it. If you believe the name change will be a success, give us a reason. The Allams have done a good job. But, he's hijacked the lads' & Bruce's promotion, and tried to make it about him. And now his comments have been cringeworthy and dividing opinions amongst the supporters.
But any reason anyone could give would just be dismissed offhand by the all knowledgable DMD. To me, if anyone trusts Allam with it on the basis that he's a very successful businessman and surely knows better than themselves about such things, that's good enough for me. But most the anti-name change lot won't accept that.
Sheikh Mansour thinks Manchester City is a perfectly good name and when it comes to wealth, he makes Assem look like a barrow boy. If we're going to back an idea purely on the basis of the wealth of the bloke who came up with it, I'm afraid Assem loses every time. Even Vincent Tan is three times as wealthy and he's a blithering idiot.
I take issue with this. You won't accept "Because it's Dr Allams club and he knows what he's doing" doesn't seem good enough for the all knowing anti's. I also find your second 2 comments funny. He's not done any of the sort, a handful of antis have done that, but mostly in their heads. Besides, we're more than capable of not agreeing with each other as evidenced by loads of threads on different subjects on these forums, we sure as hell don't need any help. I bet you disagree with that statement too. The bigger majority do not care enough to join any campaigns, and given some of the reports and experiences of people dealing with the leaflet muggers, I can't see a massive swing in support to the anti's either. The majority of the fans that go to the KC or away games are enjoying the ride and don't see anything being hijacked and don't feel divided at all.
The bloke at Fulham is keeping with tradition. He's even got rid of that stupid Michael Jackson statue.
Exactly, so he's looking around trying to get more revenue. He thinks we want to stay in the premier league. When in fact AN want to feel superior and have 3000 people in the ground and half of CI want standing back and a ****ing good fight every week end.
So what do you call the party at the KC rather than a trip round Hull? Just to get one over the council. Calling the name irrelevant and lousy. What do you call that?
The difference being that those 2 bought those 2 clubs as playthings and are perfectly capable of bankrolling them with their existing wealth. Our owner did it as a favour to Hull, to a community (us), and wants it to be self sustaining and profitable in the future. Either of the other 2 could get bored, drop the clubs and not bat an eyelid when moving on. Dr A won't do that. So yeah, great example, you're almost arguing that he should be doing something like he's proposing because he's exactly NOT like those 2.
KC party? targeted at actual fans and not anyone else, like the council, who do NOT support our football team but would happily use it as a means to get re-elected. I really can't be arsed explaining again how his statement about the name was misinterpreted and twisted by people like yourself, with your own agendas.
You've just proved my point, any reason just gets **** on by you lot It doesn't matter what other club owners think, if Allam thinks its a good idea and our fans want to trust his judgement, I'm willing to let them. Other club owners aren't trying anything new like Allam. Saying its a bad idea because Sheikh Mansour isn't doing it doesn't make it a bad idea. Ferrari and McClaren didn't have a locked rear dif like red bull did that year they shot to prominence, that wasn't a bad idea was it. Just to clarify, I don't think the name change is a good idea.
You missed the point. You said you were happy to go along with it, on the basis that Assem was a successful businessman and therefore must know what he's doing. My contention is, that it's simply not true that because someone is successful at one thing, they're successful at everything. Wealthy people make as many mistakes as everyone else, the only difference is, they can usually afford to make them.
You missed the point too, see my response to Bob above. And if he bought the club as a favour to Hull, why is he changing the club against the fans wishes and claiming he can't run a club on fans feelings? And it is against the fans feelings, even those who are happy to go along with him making this change don't think it's a good idea, or that we'll benefit from it.
