19 shots, 9 on target, 1 goal

  1. Cisse and Kuyt just hammered the ball, I find that more frustrating than Suarez placing it onto the post! I will never agree with putting laces through it when it is one on one with the keeper. When Cuellar tried to head back to their keeper and Borini got on the end of it he had two options to score depending on what the keeper did: roll it under the keeper or dink it. Blasting it put it all down to pot luck and played into the keepers hands as he was just making his self big.

Shelvey is raw and not ready for the first team but Suso is ready to replace our captain?

I think Suso is a more rounded player, just like Sterling. Not only do they have the technical ability, but they have game intelligence - something that Shelvey doesn't possess.

Gerrard doesn't deserve to be in the starting line up based on his performances over the past 2-3 years. He's only in the first team because of his name.

Prior to last season, I would have blasted the likes of Kuyt for not picking their spot and showing more composure.

But now I'm just desperate for goals any way shape or form!

  5. But that is kind of my point. Borini opted to blast it meaning he had little chance of scoring given the circumstances. Had he been composed and place or dinked the shot, the chances would have been much higher. I actually believe Suarez would have scored that chance because it was the ideal situation for him.

I agree that he has technical ability and could be a very good player but I will wait for BR to decide when he is ready for that.

I think the main issue is playing Gerrard in this CDM role, I can't see it being just because Lucas is out either because it would be natural to use sahin and Allen to hold and move Gerrard up but for whatever reason BR isn't doing it.

Something needs to be changed cos as someone above said I don't think this will fix itself with more games

  7. Apose to what...? <whistle>

Maybe he is looking at it as a trio rather than individuals? Maybe he thinks having Shelvey and Gerrard providing options either side of Allen is better than just Gerrard in front of Allen and Sahin? I don't agree, I rate Shelvey but I think the latter would be better.

I can only assume BR didn't start with Sahin just to give him more time to work and train with the team before he is 'unleashed' - perhaps playing him against Arsenal was too soon?

Problem is that we've seen Suarez trying to be composed and ends up over thinking and trying to be too clever, and then misses.

I think a majority of his goals comes when he's done too much that you think he's missed his opportunity, but then just hammers it as a last resort...

    Sahin is unfit....

sure the ideal right now would be allen and sahin but i feel there is SERIOUS issues with tactics and positioning... rodgers imo is not right. the defense is way too deep, there is zero collective pressing going on, little urgency and the forwards are isolated and the balls played to them are too long, too straight and too easy to defend...

I see way too much going up the middle and not enough passing and moving in triangles to advance though one and two touch quick passing.

All in all it looks very bad to me.... they are trying but they are just all over the place.

  11. We have seen odd glimpses of good play but, as Rodgers said, it is going to take time. Yes, we have always passed the ball and yes, we have always looked to play in triangles and provide movement, but i think it is worth noting the inexperience in this team at present. It WILL take time <ok>
