There was that period after their equaliser when the whole stand was quiet, which I think is when people expected the new group to be getting everyone else going. It's easy to be singing when winning, but it's when the team isn't doing so well that the crowd and players need the lift. I was on the right hand side or the rookery and couldn't particularly hear the group over people in the middle or near me
Not having a go at it is still early days and its a very good idea which will Strengthen. Rome wasn't built in a day... But there were times I thought the rookery was very loud
When will people learn/accept/understand that we will never be loud at home!! We could be beating Real Madrid at home and we still wouldn't be loud. It's nothing to be ashamed off, we are a family club with a high percentage of ' older ' fans and kids.
I thought you guys did a great job! I sit in the UR towards that end. The difficulty comes because you are probably in a long 'strip' as opposed to a tight block. That probably can't change unless the club start evicting people from their seats which is highly unlikely to happen. The songs will catch on. WE SING FOR WATFORD, though not particularly loud, was catching on. Many in the UR were clapping along during the middle section. Some of us were trying to join in. Didn't hear 'Yellow' though, which was a pity.
As one footballing sage put it... "early doors..."
The true test of The1881 will be during a scrappy game on a cold, wet Tuesday night.
You make it sound as though they too are full of Italians & Spaniards....![]()

Yeah, damn those silent advertising boards. Hopefully when the new stand is built some thought will be given to making it as 'noisy' as possible (low/dipped roofing, non-absorbent walls etc.) and, although this is unlikely but would be great, a safe standing area near the away fan's section would be brilliant.
HarryHornet - are you sure you're in the right centuryI've been guilty of that myself but lately I've changed back to trying to be like I was when I first started going no doubt inspired by what's happening ON the pitch.
