Aren't they glory supporters? I hate those idiots more than anything. They say stupid things like "Leicester, what do you support them for? They're ****!" despite the fact they come from Grimsby and support Man U. You can't have a serious chat to them about football, it would be like someone who finishes 5th in the Olympic 100m shaking the hand of the drug-cheat winner, knowing they're a cheat. They never go to games either, because they're "not local". Twats.
I always use the analogy of the Mercedes. A man who drives one doesnt mean he likes them any more than the man working the night shift on the NHS (no disrespect intended here, great job) who cant afford one. Id love to be down at every game, but im a student and cant attend most for geographical and financial reasons, and often im playing during most of them. I dont see myself as any less of a fan as someone who does all home and away, just maybe less commmited. I still have the same pasion for them. However, i understand that other people may see it differently.
If you can't afford it, you can't afford it. When clubs charge high prices, they know they are going to price out some people. I suppose it's more profitable to have smaller crowds paying bigger fees - then need less staff etc. I'm sure Leicester would get £32k every week if they charged a reasonable amount.
Only match that i could get to, not going again now till January, looked more like 15k, but yeah Sky would have picked up the bill for unsold tickets.
You're lucky. When I was at Uni, there was no internet radio. I could only listen to Leicester if they were playing a Yorkshire side or happened to be on Five Live.
Does anyone remember the Arsenal "supporting" character in the Fast Show? Proper piss take of the plastic fan. For anyone who doesn't remember it, I found this...
