Could be the reason why we haven't signed JDG? With Pablo and Emnes as back ups for the AM/Wing positions, we wouldn't need another AM. We just need a long term replacement for Leon, unless Monk will deploy Amat in the DM role (if and when needed). Didn't do to bad at times last year. That said, I can't see Joe getting much game time at Liverpool this season, maybe we should go after him next year with only a year or so left on his contract.
With Monk, many of our attacks come from long diagonal balls to the wings which need a stronger player than Dyer. I'm not a fan of this long ball tactic and feel Nathan will suffer.
Every time a current player is replaced by a new player ,Monk's job gets harder. If Dyer doesnt start it will be at Garrys own risk imo
