Were does that end though? Does killing a teenager deserve the death penalty? An OAP? Na, judicial killings should not be allowed in a civillised society.
The problem with this case (and similar ones of which sadly, there are many) is that the liberal do gooders have taken over the asylum. Even though this was an open and shut case, no one really wants to admit that she did actually murder the kid so they are being unduly lenient just because she's a mother. I have no doubt that some ****ing scabby tree hugging social worker wants counselling for this cow because "She lost a child". No, i'm not joking.
The sentance for murder should reflect the age of the victim. If the average age to live is say 80 and the victim is 1 then the perpetrator should get 79 years. Likewise if the victim is 79 the sentance should be 1 year (the ****s gonna die soon anyway)
What do you think Social Work reports say ST? "This woman deserves to feel the full force of the law and should be punished to the fullest extent" or "She had a troubled background and upbringing, her own parents having been divorced when she was but 12 so please go easy on her, she did'nt mean to kill the kid"
Maybe we should put our heads (or bodies wink wink) together and do some research, see what we can find?
It's because of lily livered do-gooders like STD that we are in this position in the first place Dev.
During her pregnancy she was given help by the social workers at the Royal Alexandra Hospital and after Declan was born was put on a methadone programme. She was signed off this programme by social workers who described Declan as "a much-cared for child", and stated that Hainey was receiving help from her mother and step-father. In a report it was noted that "the methadone programme appears to be going well. There are no concerns about the care and well-being of Declan. This will continue to be the case so long as she remains on the methadone programme and continues to receive good family support."
And your point? They can only assess what they see in front of them and whatt information they are given from other sources. It has no impact on what sentence she got for murder.
To be honest, I think that has more to do with them being ****e at their job than having overtly liberal tendencies. Folk in Gallowhill claimed the wee man was a happy child when his gran was looking after him - then this mad boot stopped her mum looking after him.
And do you seriously believe that the Social Work reports put together pre sentencing would paint her as a monster and therefore undermine the reports which other Social Workers wrote? I don't. She will get tea and sympathy and unwarranted understanding of her plight at the time of Declan's death.
On the contrary, most of them do a fantastic job despite being underpaid and having to work ****e hours in ****e conditions.
