Agreed. Or at minimum play Sturridge up top alone and have Rooney as an CAM. But you just know the Woy is going to play Sturridge wide and Rooney through the middle Idiotic if that does happen as if Sturridge plays through the middle he WILL get goals.
Yeh after last nights showing lets not take too many liverpool players. Gerrard was dire Sterling was pointless. Why was he there? Johnson isnt a footballer. Henderson. Why is he confused? Just wandering aimlessly. The only good one was Sturridge and thats just because he scored. Best liverpool player on the pitch? Agger. Rooney and Smalling were ****e as well.
some are saying Rooney shouldn't be at the world cup, good god, don't these people watch football, he's England's only world-class player.
Sky, you and me both know it was a sympathy award from Townsend Hes was dire, they all were. bar Shaw.
He was dire bow, him and everyone else. Do you disagree? If so, why? The best player on tge pitch was shaw. Sturridge was the best player who started the game. Rooney was one of the worst ones, random strikes are not what hes there to do. It was the first England game ive watched in years, I wont be watching again anytime soon. It did however show me things are not that bad at United. Well, not compared to England.
Gerrard was not dire. The first half he pinged the ball about as good anyone about. He has quality. Second half he got sloppy, but still tracked and made tackles others should be making. He was a million miles away from being dire. Sterling was very lively, made several decent balls - more than our team generally. He, like Gerrard, got sloppy in the second half but he was certainly not dire. First half he was the only option we had. I deplore you to watch that game and tell me he was not good in the first half. I'm perfectly happy to be critical of Liverpool players but I thought he did a good job and showed he did enough to be in the squad, if not the first team. Gerrard is a given. Henderson, however, did not perform and is hanging to the squad by a shoe string. Sturridge, imo, should start up top and Rooney should be setting him up - definitely not the other way round.
