How are the club going to allocate this do we think? Semi final should be relatively self explanatory, on sale to 20/21 season ticket holders with loyalty points, if there any left then general sale for season ticket holders 20/21 with no loyalty points.
The final? Wonder if it’ll be just raw loyalty points for 20/21 season ticket holders? Loyalty points in general? Maybe tickets sold in terms of the constructed bubbles, and average points of each bubble? It would work, and would mean people are sitting with people they would be at the game.

Surely it would have to be loyalty points for the final and not groups with averages.

The old system used to allow averages and people with no points would end up with mags tickets due to averaging amongst groups. The current points system stops that.

The club have previously (before KLD) said it would be length of time with a season card rather than loyalty points. For the home one I think anyone who kept their season card and wants to go would be able to because some won't want to turn up. Final would likely either be consecutive years, or they might just do a straight ballot (assuming people are allowed to travel to it and they don't say they need to be based x amount of miles from the ground)

When did the club say that?

Years ago! I mean I'm talking a few regimes ago. The idea was that loyalty points weren't the best way of doing it because the club don't make money from people doing away games. Not always, but a lot of older fans can't afford the time or money to go to every away game but they've possibly been regularly spending on their season card for decades. A cup final with less tickets than there are SC holders wasn't seen as an away game, so loyalty points weren't going to come into it.

Like I say, that doesn't mean that'll still be the case now. Personally I'd do a ballot. I don't think length of season card is completely fair because a lot of younger lads will only have been able to have one for ten years or whatever. That said there is an argument that you don't want a load of tickets going to younger lads who live at home and can afford to go on the piss every fortnight whilst loyal fans who always pay into the club but can't go away due to family etc miss out. Its not an easy one for the club so I think just saying it's a ballot is as fair as any. The home game will be fine, there'll probably only be 10000 wanting to go anyway

Got you. I think they may even get to the point where they may split it. Say 3k on loyalty points, 1k length of season card to take into account those who don't go to away games, 500 ballot and 500 for the club / players / sponsors etc. I guess it'll be up for discussion.

Agreed, that would be fair if they could organise it. Should say, I've got no dog in this fight because I didn't renew. Would have done if they'd said the streaming card would cover the home games and you'd get the extra back at the end. Instead I was on furlough (on 80%) and, since my match ticket price was more than £10, I'd have either had to accept paying more than those who didn't renew (which didn't seem fair) or I'd have to fork out an extra tenner on top every home game until the refund. Couldn't take the chance in case I lost my job so I just gave it up. So either way I won't get one! Rightly so as well (to be honest I wouldn't be wildly keen rattling around Wembley when I could watch with mates here).

Not sure what would happen in the future in terms of consecutive years but the club has said 19/20 sc holders count as existing so hopefully they don't class it as a break. I've only got 21 years consecutive but that would likely put me a decent way up the list just because a lot of our fans arent 21 (which is where I think it's unfair). 50 loyalty points so again nowhere near top but would normally get one.

I'm sure the club will liaise with the supporters groups nearer the time. I'll certainly pass on that we need something that doesn't penalise those who can't go to every away but that also doesn't penalise young lads who are giving up every weekend for it! Something like what you suggest would be fairest as far as I can tell

If it’s consecutive years should be in with a shout, 14 consecutive.

I’ve technically had my season card for 34 years! Loads of away games. No way can I afford Wembley this year though!

anyhow, we’ll win all 6 games and go up so it’s not an issue................

Its extremely complicated & impossible practically to get it right.

so my situation, used to do loads of away, life changes & its difficult to maitain cost wise. I have however kept my season ticket for 31 concecutive years. started taking both my boys now, youngest not keen on away but has a season ticket. both myself & youngest have 17 loyalty points.

in our group bubble of 6 we have:
3 season ticket holders of 31 concecutive years & 3 kids with 6 years concecutive years season ticket holders, obviously the kids arnt really old enough to have longer years bearing in mind the youngest started his season ticket age 4

how on earth can you work this to be fair, also considering that 5k might have to include tickets for people from the club representing & club tickets given to whoever.

im not fancying the conversion of see yer lads dads going to the playoff final yer can watch on tv.....or possibly worse see yer youngest kid me & yer bro are off to the playoff final.

I think if its not planned with some sort of bubble in mind it will be even more crap than its going to be as technically you could have 5k fans there who dont even know each other & all have to socially distance.

its crap, in a 90k stadium & quite sure the way things in the uk are starting to become under control more can be allowed in......especially as were meant to be gearing up for large crowds at euros. surely only a month earlier the can trial 30k fans bubbles of 6 considered in a 90k stadium & you have to apply for tickets in bubbles of 1 to 6 then they can work out a potential attendance rather than state fully before hand

Ps i remember reading when Peter Reid took over in 1994 we had 4k season ticket holders, it was a bit in a paper about how season tickets grew under him & the SOL....just for anyone wanting to guesstimate how far up they are.

Take into conservative those who got sick of going & deaths, not fit enough to go & you may well be top of the pile for longest season ticket @marcusblackcat

Just realised I was mistaken. I didn’t renew the year my daughter was born (2010/11) Money was tight! Still went to every home game using a season ticket of a friend or colleague who couldn’t make it! But sadly not a 34 year run sadly. But in did have one all through the 90s!! There’ll be people out there with longer associations than me anyhow

Yeah I think it should go on the bubbles. People who didn’t set up a bubble didn’t feel safe to go. Average loyalty points of each bubbles and the average then allowed to go, which for me would be any bubble north of 20 loyalty points. Will mean a few going who don’t deserve them, but at least they’ll be season tickets holders. I will be honest, I will be fuming if I don’t get a ticket, especially if all the big game Charlie’s who don’t even know our results let along live and breathe the club somehow get tickets.

First tickets surely go to season card holders who carried on payments during the lock down.

Why play at Wembley ? if we play say lincoln use Old trafford or Maine road makes sense than have a stadium with 70,000 + empty seats and the distance/cost. is that 10,000 for the home leg semi ?

Yeah that’ll be 10,000. The club need to release a statement as soon as play offs are mathematically confirmed as to what the plans are.

Indeed I expect us to lose home and away to whoever we get in the semi’s but I was convinced that would happen with Portsmouth 2 years ago.
