That's what happens when a player plays for one club for his entire prime. Martyn would have been England's no.1 at almost any other time, but it was pretty hard to get in ahead of David Seaman (who we trained).
Utter garbage. Martyn was a decent keeper, but I wasn't even convinced about him for England. I actually preferred James, which is saying something. Shilton was VASTLY superior.

I haven't lived long enough to make a sweeping statement like that, but he's probably in the top 10 of the 8-9 England keepers I've seen!
