I think we're on the same hymn sheet Sparks. I was just making the point that Ole was, to put it bluntly, useless and had less of a clue than Slade.

We are stuck with a squad that is mediocre at best and, overall, a management team (have to give Trollope a bit more time) that would love to be regarded as highly as mediocre.

In reality Malone would come in at the expense of Connolly who had a reasonable game yesterday and got forward well in the second half. He used to get nose bleed at the half way line

Slade will stay until the season end but if Tan has aspirations of getting us back to being competitive at the top of this division and upwards (and getting his money back) then Slade and most of his support team have to go in early May so someone with greater ability across the board can come in asap to prepare for the wheeling and dealing that will need to be done.

    Exactly Bluey. <ok>

Slade was a mistake unless you take a more cynical view about his appointment. There's a school of thought that believes bringing him in with no support staff of his own and saddling him with Young was just a means to an end to see the season out.

The only thing against that argument would be that Solskjaer's departure was after only 8 games and far too early to write off the season success wise. I can't believe Tan will have shut up shop on our chances to get back up so early on, so it must be down to bad judgement on his part in listening to "advisers" like Roeder.

Still, the fact remains that we are far from the force that Tan (and the rest of us to be honest) assumed we'd be this year. Where will it end? The best is to see this season out and stay safe and start again but with someone capable of getting us out of this division - I just don't see Slade as that guy.

That means an early appointment to give the incoming manager the chance to sort his squad out through the summer. Waiting for us struggle again next season is not an option for change and Tan should be made aware of that if he isn't already.

If they're going to sack him why wait? They've seen how absolutely inept we've been for months, the only reason he's still I a job IMO is they're still hoping he'll do enough to keep him there. The thought terrifies me and I haven't renewed yet simply because of the possibility we'll be stuck with Slade again.

I'd rather him go now as I doubt Trollope would take us down at this stage - Slade might still just manage it.

The obvious answer to why wait is that it should give the club some time to do a serious search for a manager to start next year as more inevitably will come on the market at the end of the season.

We do not need another kneejerk reaction like Ole or even a more considered cockup like Slade.

1-0 up and looking odds on that we might score a 2nd and what does the bald buffoon do? He takes off the best player on the pitch. 3 points needlessly chucked away. Charton were as poor as City yet were able to step it up when going behind, like they did at the Valley. How many points have we now conceded when leading games; 15-16?

The defending for both away goals was ludicrous. On each occasion a woeful effort to head the ball out of the box landed at the feet of an advancing opposition player rather than landing in row z.

On the plus side, the City goal as well worked and one of the better ones seen all season.

ninian.....according to WOL we've LOST six games after taking a lead. So that's at least 18......I would assume there are a few draws as well.

Amazingly had we held on to those leads we'd be in a play-off place
