Fair enough. From his cameo though he may have something special. I understand why people would stick with arma and Ely because they work hard but for me that is a safety first approach and we need some runners and dynamism in the team. Can always bring on arma/ely once ahead to run their socks off and defend a lead. Good for Ralph to have selection headaches though.
I couldn't agree more with this personally... its good to have players who want to work hard off the ball and press but we don't really need two players doing this, we need someone who is going to be direct and the other team are going to have to be cautious with.. that in itself will allow for alot less pressure on which ever side has that directness. I think edizie is good to have in the starting 11 really as Perraud Is pretty solid defensively and then Ely could play the other side and cover more as KWP likes to bomb on more... it also gives good balance tbh.
I think we need to ease Edozie in. Sure he looked exciting and dynamic in, what, 20 mins of his PL debut? He is going to be hyped and wanting to impress even more in these circumstances. I think letting him come off the bench a few more times is the way to go with him. We aren’t one of the better teams in the league so I think being solid has to be priority number 1 in majority of games. If we started Edozie and are 1/2 down by mid second half and only have Ely/A Armstrong to come on then we are ****ed, possibly not the other way round.
For me, whether we start Edozie or not should be dictated by who we're playing and whether we're home or away. He should be starting at home to Brentford on Saturday IMO, whereas he probably should start on the bench at Villa.
We need impact players on the bench We’ve lost games before where the opposition brought subs on and changed the game, we need to be able to do this Our subs changed the games for the better v Leeds and Leicester and improved us a bit v Wolves, it doesn’t necessarily mean you start those guys the next game Good thing is we are getting nearer to starting with a good team and still having impact players on the bench
