But they won’t be here in 3-4 years if we’re still in the championship. If they are their development has gone downhill.

Quite right, but the plan is surely for the whole squad to improve. Sometimes that may be development and sometimes with new signings replacing those who haven't progressed sufficiently.

There are no guarantees but there has to be a plan.

Definitely, I’d like to reach the PL with as many of our current squad as possible but the longer we stay here the harder that becomes because they’re a talented bunch who’ll be getting watched all the time. I’m confident we’ll find the right players and improve when we have to and whenever I hear rumours of someone like Ekwah going for £15m I’m probably the opposite of others worrying about losing players I’m excited to see who we’ll bring in!

    Fair enough.
I have felt the same way many years ago like the Reid era etc. where we went up and back down etc etc.

But I don't think that now.
If we went up and went back down I very much doubt we'd be in free fall like post Short era.
In fact I think it would only help to strengthen us.
    It certainly would financially.

I may be wrong but no one will know
    unless we go up.

Like I said, a lot thought we weren't ready for the championship and would struggle. We haven't. In fact we've flourished.

When you say prem teams would of took advantage of Hull, you mean top prem teams right ? ;)

Fair points there and it’s true we are a different beast nowadays.

Regarding any/top Prem team soundly beating Hull, it’s more a reference that we have some way to go in terms of becoming defensively solid and getting enough cutting edge up front. I’m looking forward to seeing how the coaches, recruitment and the players themselves can improve us on those fronts.

“For us we’re more than comfortable with the group that we’ve got, our model was to design a team to play 4-3-3, have the flexibility to play 3-4-3 and 3-5-2.”

It’s not about being confined to a specific tactical set up or approach, there can still be a load of flexibility in that regard within a clearly defined playing identity.
