I thought that match last night was the first time Argnetina actually looked like a decent football team. Messi was superb. The big negative for me with the match was ITV's coverage. I fnd their commentary to have a "house style" which is prone to being banal, sensational and prone to stating the obvious. You could exchange Sam Matterface, Clive Tyldesley , Elton Welsby or even Brian Moore and they all seem to have spouted from the same hymn sheet. It is like ITV have an agenda to pander to the lowest common denominator. Lee Dixon remains their best co-commentator but I have to walk away at half time as I cannot stand the likes of Roy Keane. BBC is so much better and always has been.
France making this World Cup look easy. Although I would say the ref is being extremely lenient on them again
Morocco playing the best football I have seen from any team in this tournament, just missing the finishing touch. Where was this Boufal at Saints, looking World class all tournament.
Good, an Argentina v Morocco final would be an absolute borefest and a foregone conclusion. Haven't bothered watching the semi-finals as they weren't very appealing at all. Now we get a cracking final.
Have you been watching the same Morocco as the rest of us? Wouldn’t have been a forgone conclusion by any means. I think they could have taken Argentina. France by far more likely to win the final I reckon, just soak up pressure too well.
Would be a very dull final though. Morocco would sit back and play for a 1-0. At least now we should have two teams willing to have a go at each other.
The expectations will be that France and Argentina produce a classic final ... The reality might be something rather underwhelming as when Germany played Argentina in 2014.
I don’t know really, despite not scoring Morocco put in the most entertaining performance of the tournament from anyone for 65 mins tonight. Possibly because they went behind early, but they showed that they have a performance in their locker. Wouldn’t surprise me if Argentina v France ends up being an absolute borefest. Loads of finals between top teams pan out that way.
Except the last time they played produced one of the all time World Cup classics. Not saying the final will reach that standard but it shouldn't be a borefest.
