Before this threads descends into the mire, Hogan Ephraim was with us before Adel, and Angelo Balanta even earlier than him.

We dont get it because he hasnt done it for 2 season mate!

But I'm sure you know a lot more about football than me. You carry on worshipping a player that has let you down for 2 seasons in the prem & make every excuse you can for him.
At least those of us who were GRANERO fans have been big enough to put opur hands up and say he was ****e...wonder how long it'll take the rest to do the same with AT.
Yes he has flair, ability blah blah blah...but can only show it against weaker oppo. I said ages ago, that when he meets premiership standard defenders he would struggle badly and be found out.
Not exactly set the Prem alight has he? Didnt see to many bidding for him over last 2 seasons..except of course Barca & Milan, but apparently he's too good for them..../
Bored again, you guys carry on with you hero worship of a false god, I suppose if you go to the games then you have to have something or someone to believe in.
Those who dont make games tend to take a more objective view, thats where the diffrence of opion come in i suppose...wish i could be a real supporter and not just a fan !! <laugh>

Good luck !

Those who go to games tend to want the chance to watch a genuinely gifted flair player for their money.

Giving up with this now....we'll never agree, so best to leave it!

Hero worship of a false god. That's a bit strong. I just enjoy the unpredictable always loved watching flair players. Gascoigne, hoddle, John Byrne, wegerle, michael meaker (!) Micky hazard, etc.
However I respect your viewpoint as it is real to you. It will be interesting to see what the future holds for our Adel. Waste of talent or mercurial talent? Lets see what happens.

Really? Two wins on the bounce. Then we reverted to type. Of the stunning last 8 games of our season how many did superstar Townsend start in? Did Taarabt play more than 80 minutes in total? And until he came on, precisely how many chances did we create with a creative team led by Townsend? I know it suits your agenda to elevate Townsend to hero status but come on.

1 If you don't like the fact that most on here disagree with you on this subject then stop raising it. believe me. Most of us are bored with your obsession about all things taarabt and desire to be seen as the greatest prophet that ever lived.

2 When taarabt descends to the level of sheer mind-numbing mediocrity that that Granero has displayed, I'm sure that everyone will see the light.

3 Now if you are genuinely bored of this, instead of merely trying to wind us up with the result that you are the one to lose it big time (you have form) give it a rest.

Yorkie, if you go back through this thread and read it, you'll find i was simply replying to others, like i am to you now.
I wouldnt sat Townsend was ahero, i never have. Ive replied saying I enjoyed watching him (& Remy) play more than i did Tarbs didnt I?
As for the rest of the drivel about losing it, Im guessing the fact that your messiah have let you down means you have no other option but to resort to making personal comments? I'm sure when the mods read it they will see that its "against board rules" and act accordingly.
FYI- I'm not gonna make a complaint as I dont believe in it, so If Matt or 999's have a quiet word, then it hasn't come from me!

Sadly, you dopnt read the board that much as you would see a growing number who do agree with US re Adel. I dont care if you do or not mate. Its your opinion. The fact that i'm obviously not allowed to have an opinion diffrent to yours is the thing that P's me off. Its also the reason a lot of others dont post so regulary..for fear of going against the grain iof the board!

As for the 2 wins on the bounce thing...please remind us all of the last time we did that in the top division..better get some old history book out for that one. So to repeat sb, we played some of our best football when superman was no where near the team. Deal with it mate.

i aint got time to get irrate about this as im busy at work. I'l check in for your answer (re: 2 wins thing) at some stage later. good luck with the answer <ok>

Easy, guvnor. All I'm saying is that, in a good size bundle of games, he has played very well in the EPL. In some of them, he looked like a genius that we once saw in the NPC. In other games he just put in a good shift and upped his defensive game and simply gave effort.

Yes, in many other games he didn't perform, along with many others.

I get the feeling that you're one of the fans he excited the most in the NPC before and you're one of the most disappointed that he hasn't completely been a one man show in the EPL. How can he be? He has harder opposition in the EPL and needs a good, well functioning team around him to show his best. Plus he needs to be motivated well by a good manager, as has been mentioned many times in this thread.

Another theory is that you're one of those sorts who simply likes to disagree and be the dark horse or rogue. I'm not saying your opinion isn't valid but with everything in life you have to look at the positives and see what we can get out of things if we do things well. If we were to get the best out of him then we'll be laughing. If we have a management team who simply don't know what to do with him then maybe we are better off without him.

But at no point have I called you stupid. In fact, I think you're rather stupid for throwing that insult out at others. You sound like a child. (click on the link in my signature. It's about you.)

Awjm (what does that mean by the way?) firstly let me apologise for calling you (and anyone else who felt offended) stupid. it was not directed at anyone in particular & like you say, I was stupid for saying it <ok>

right...

The first 3 paragraphs, right up to needing a good manager, are absolutely spot on and I totally agree withit.
I sad when I first joined the board that he wouldn't be the same player in the Prem for all the reason you have listed. I also said that if he worked at it; he could, whilst with us; become a good solid prem player.for him to turn into the world wide superstar that many have said he already is, he would need to move to a big, top 6 team and have good players, staff and infrastructure around him.
I was told...."No, he will set the Prem alight" ..."name a better midfielder outside the top 4 teams"...blah blah blah

I have always (check my posts) said he has talent, skill and potential. He just doesn't seem to have the ability to do the right thing and build on it with some f-ing hard work.
The arguments always start when others (?) make excuses for bad performances & even say he was amazing, when he's had an obvious stinker. if he's been crap then just say it. I have on many occasions said he had a good / great game, but, that's been very few and far between in the Prem.
you think he had a bundle of good games in the prem...? I personally think he had a few and some "solid, hardworking and effective games. He improved vastly under MH for a while then something else went wrong? I mean F me...he was even tackling back and winning the ball at times.

Now I still believe he has the ability but I don't think he'll have the same effect as he did before. teams have seen him and worked out how to contain him, and we aint good enough to bypass him.

Mate my name is black beauty so I may be a dark horse but I aint a rogue, I'm a convict because I live in Aus.

Anyway i'm off to read this sig thing....<ok>...I wont bother with the "sound like a child" comment...didn't realise you could hear me? You say I sound like a child eh? rightO.. <doh>

Adel Taarabt with the ball at his feet can do almost anything ... This is our number ten and holds the keys to open up any team ... Of course when he is playing well ... Lets be clear on this

Whether you like him or not has little to do with football

In the premiership last season for myself and most of my mates thought that Taarabt's goal against Fulham was clearly the best goal of the season ... Just this goal should IMO show anyone exactly the difference between genius and ordinary ... It was very very special and shows anyone what he is capable of ... There is no argument here

He may not be everyone's cup of tea but his footballing genius at this level can't be questioned IMO

Many posters aren't thinking clearly which is understandable given our worst outcome Queens Swirds don't like Adel ... No biggy move on

I would spend money to watch this player whatever club he played for and the great thing I know 100% is that people in my social circle agree also ... Taarabt hasn't won over everyone of course not but he has gone a long way last season at collecting the acclaim he deserves.

If Harold were to sell Taarabt in the next weeks I will not go to QPR until Harold himself goes ... The mis management of admittedly a difficult player is Harold's fault ... Let the kid play and control games even NW saw that

Taarabt is still clearly IMO in the top the players of the season gone and he had a quiet season

Pure Genius and for QPR to get rid of the very key we need to win games is madness

The player got us here and should be central to getting us back.

Just a short one. This debate will run and run and I like the fact that there are views opposing my own. But lets keep it friendly as we are all cut from the same cloth. Have a good day all.

The sad thing is that some fans are never going to take to Adel and set the bar so high that they’ll never accept him.

This attitude in a nut shell could be seen in the game against Newcastle when Shaun Derry took a shot and it went off for a throw in. A round of ‘Shaun Derry my Lord’ sprung up around the crowd. A sizeable chunk of Rangers fans have a pathological addiction to try hard limited talent players. Queens seems to be the Russell Brand of this mob.

The disproportionate amount of praise and love for Ainsworth, Bircham and Dexter Blackstock in years gone by comes largely from these same people who class Adel as a failure in the prem. They overlook that Adel has done more for this club then any of their relatively recent favourites.

Reading this thread it is almost becoming an accepted that Adel has been a failure at prem level.?!This aint f*cking true and brings me back to the point about the bar being set too high. For them it seems he has to be one of the best players in the league or if not he’s a failure.

How many other premier league failures absoutley dominate agaisnt their two rivals (in our case Fulham and Chelsea) in order to secure 50% of their sides wins that season. A good example of how he has undoubtedly proved his ability to compete in a league where Jason Puncheon has exceled (shows how ridiculous the moaners stance is) is that even in a game like Fulham away where he played badly he still scored a worldy and won a penalty. Not his fault at all that we got 0 points instead of 3 that day.

After a difficult start to first half of last season he played a key role in keeping us up in the Premier League whilst adding more work rate to his undoubted quality.

Then this season despite regularly being sub or left out of a mess of a team he managed to secure 5 goals and produced numerous assists whilst being at the half way stage in the season the 2nd highest creator of chances in the entire league!!. Unarguably in an attacking sense he has been our best performer over the last two years. But the Ainsworh Blackstock and Bircham fans overlook this.

And despite all the moans from the Mike Basset brigade I am still waiting for an offering of a realistic alternative £4.8m or less player who is capable going to score 19 goals and gettin 15 assists next season. So if not you might as well keep it stum.

This post from a normally sensible poster sums up the ridiculousness of this thread. You might as well have pointed out that our head of security has been at the club more than 30 years because he’s played about as many games as Ephraim and Balanta have in recent seasons.

Surely you smart enough to realise that they can be discounted as they don’t play?!

Says it all, brilliant. Love watching the guy, genuine creative talent. We look so much more threatening with him. Remy or any other forward rely on his vision eg the simplistic brilliance at West Ham. Stop knocking a genuine quality Ranger. Not surprised he's cheesed off with life!
