In my opinion Billy Sharp will never be able to go any higher then the championship. I cant see West Ham really going in for him. Big Sam likes playing with big tall players and Sharp doesnt fit the bill. Plus he would be too like Sam Baldock who is already there

Bristol may now start to think that if they get bids of £1Million - £2.5Million that they may even consider keeping him for 6 months. His goals may save you from the drop (its a possibility for sure) and if you were offered £2.5Million with League 1 or CCC football next year - i know which package i'd take.

If they sold him in the summer they could of brought a new striker and his goals would of kept them up

It doesnt matter which ever way you look at this, the losers are Bristol City and the winner is Nicky Maynard

Don't see how Maynard's a winner - he's had to play for a rubbish side for half a season and his performances haven't exactly made him everyone's prime target.

To be fair to Maynard, i think he has proven what he can do, which is why there is so much talk about him and why so many clubs are interested.

I dont think we will go down, and im hoping that DM will get rid of the dead wood to free up some money. But im not in charge so what do i know!

I think he would have with the money, he's exactly Pearson's type of player.

He's said millions of times he doesn't want to move.

    Exactly.

I know i'm going to be called 'deluded' and 'wearing blue tinted specs' but I strongly think we have one of, if not the best chance of playoffs through the same run that saw Dull, Blackpool and Reading reach finals of the Playoffs.

Exactly, I love it when people say we have no chance. I'd rather sneak into the frame.

We are close to Sheffield, West Ham is not. Sharp is a family man.

I think that's a hard thing to judge. He's only ever been a gem in ****e squads so we'll have to see how he would get on in the Prem. He may be the next Nugent for all we know.

    Exactly, steer clear of him.

    Steer clear of Maynard?

Hes scored 3 goals less than Sharp....

And they have played 1 more game

I don't rate him on the same level as Sharp.

If we have 3m to spend on a striker then i'd rather we saw it spent on Sharp. He's much more of a team player.

Maynard proved in the summer he doesnt give a **** for Bristol, if he did he would of either signed a new contract or left. If he signed a 1 year extension that way Bristol would of still get a very good deal for him and he could of still left

You are not fighting for promotion, you are fighting for the play offs, can you not read?

If he wanted to play at a more local club who have a far better chance at automatic promotion, than he would sign for Middlesborough, i think you are clutching at straws and looking for reasons why he would want to join a mid table club.

And dare i say it, Hull is even closer are they have a better chance of automatics than your lot.

Just think, had you sold Maynard in the summer when you had the chance you could of brought Billy Sharp, now when you sell Maynard you wont be able to sign anybody half decent

    We didnt though did we?

No point in trying to change the past, concentrate on the future and for us, thats staying in this division, and for you, its trying to remain a a mid table club with the chance of the play offs next season

Even if we sold Maynard for £6m there is still no way we would get in the play offs, your team are the prime example that money does not buy success.

Millen would have probably got in the same old crap that he did before. If DM sold him, then it may have been different.

This season is all about staying in the CC, if we can get rid of the dead wood and sign some half decent players in the summer then i would like to see us climb to mid table with a view to get in the play offs in a couple of years time.

So you're arguing that the likes of Mills, Danns, Nugent, Kasper, Koncheskey, Fernandes, Johnson, Beckford and St Ledger were not easily high championship class players? <doh>

We have not gelled as a side, I also think that some players are here for the ride a bit.

Then lets leave it at there.

We can be let off for the excitement we had in the summer, anyone else would have felt the same way. Things havn't worked out as well as anybody expected, people were predicting the league in pre-season with us and West Ham as runaway promoters.
