I'd love to see a couple of big new additions along with everyone else, but I can't help thinking that a lack of talent wasn't necessarily the problem last year so much as tactics and selection. Not getting fourth happened mostly because Spurs couldn't get goals late in the year against teams that were playing negatively. What about trying combinations at striker until they've got a combination that can score consistently, then sticking with them? Just sitting Crouch down should be a good start.
I'd take it a step further, by sticking to the tactic of Crouch knocking it down to VDV when it was clear teams were wise to it - watching the second leg vs. Milan, they were wise to it to the point they didn't even challenge Crouch for the first ball, and made damn sure the second ball never got near anyone in a white shirt. That tactic should've been Plan B, but seemed to become Plan A for a chunk of the season.
