This especially as Lambias was saying when we changed the name of the stadium in November that we had to find a sponsor in December to get money for the transfer window. I feel that Cisse is very much Virgin's purchase!

This exactly! Look at the Mackems, last season they sold both Bent (top goalscorer) and Henderson ('top' prospect) for mega bucks but no body's going on about how Larsson is going to be shipped out to another club. All our sales (apart from Carroll) have been players who wanted to leave, we couldn't tie down to contracts or were dicking around (Barton). The only player that fits into this category in our first team at the moment is Colo , which is very worrying, but speculation seems to have settled down now and hopefully Mike Ashley can see that we can't afford to lose him unless he buys in several replacements, as we are already short. I could see the attraction of cutting 80k from the wage bill though...

Milner 12million for a player who despite trying hard fustrated the hell out of us with his crosses going nowhere (who knew to put him in the middle).

    Given wanted to leave

Zog was a trouble maker who JK didn't like/get on with. Also got Taylor out the deal who is playing better than Charlie boy now.

Also all around four years ago. We'll be moaning at Keegan for selling Andy Cole in a bit.

[A pointless post for a pointless thread]

Sick to death of these miserable, baseless posts.

It's almost as of half our fans WANT the club to fail.

The club made it clear when it failed to sign a striker at the end of the last transfer window that there were funds still available for a striker. We bid £12m on the final day for Luiz.

The comments made by Pardew recently that we were looking for a CB instead of a striker was pure misdirection aimed at improving our negotiations for a striker (by reducing our apparent urgency) and to put other clubs off the scent that we were closing in on anybody.

Add in the virgin money as well I really don't see where all the confusion is coming from ... and the negativity is even more baffling.

Yeah i would love NUFC being in relegation battles haha What a tit. MA has a track record in **** ups. He is a business man out to make money. Why would he have any club interest at heart when he is called a FCB and told to get out of the club......

My point being, if history repeats itself and MA does what he has done in every window (made profit) someone will be on the way out.... Is that what want? Do I want to see my club do ****e? Dont be so ******ed.

to be honest the money has probably come from the virgin deal or was already in the kitty from the caroll transfer.

I'm not bothered if MA and ultimately NUFC make a profit in the transfer window as long as the squad continues to get stronger.

As fans we should no be too bothered about the value of transfers ( as long as the club is not going to go into administration) its the quality on the pitch that counts

To be fair though we've only got rid of older(ish) players who were on big wages or those who wanted to go/have new large contracts recently, I think the budget is more manageable now and books are balanced. With extra revenue coming in from VM I son't think there's any need to sell.
