Well yeah, Im just saying that the only real sanction UEFA can place on a club is denial to the Champions League, but if they dont qualify then thats not really a punishment. Its like announcing a ban on shoes to someone who has no legs!
We comply by a mile anyway, so he was talking out of his hairy hoop. We probably will qualify for the UEFA cup, where the same rules apply btw.
Technically yes, but I think UEFA are only looking at Champions League clubs atm. Also, wasnt FFP's aim to stop clubs from going bankrupt? lol Rather than policing spending on clubs who can afford to do so with impunity? At least thats what it was pitched as anyway. Think UEFA has lost sight of the big picture here.
Ayre added: âThese financial results are now up to 18 months old and we have continued to make further progress since this reporting period âIt is fairly well documented that we were days away from perhaps the bank calling in the debt on Liverpool FC or something worse and here we are today. âThese results are some 18 months old but knowing what we know in terms of how the business is performing again this year and despite the backdrop of no European football in this current year, what we see is a business very much on an upward trajectory. â So Tobes, you and your Chav cheerleaders are going to have to lose your hard ons I mean the goal this year was CL. Dont you think we'd have another goal if we weren't even going to be allowed in it? But im sure you're more business minded than our owners http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/liverpool-fc-accounts-show-club-6768260
No, FFP was brought in to try and stop sugar daddy owners creating false inflation within the game by paying unsustainable amounts in fees and wages.
It's pure spin that (hardly surprising given that it's in the Red ****e Echo) it fails to mention the £50m loss. The last 2 years trading figures show that LFC is spending way beyond it's means, it's purely a simple fact. Ayre is spinning it like crazy in order to try and make out that it constitutes massive progress, but then he would, wouldn't he......given his £1m+ salary like......
So at this rate only Arsenal will be in the CL next season. Arsenal and the teams finishing 5th, 6th and 7th? Well, maybe Chelsea as well. City and Liverpool may as well make other plans for the future.
I thought Liverpools new American owners were trillionaires and that all their financial woes were over. Apparently I was wrong
Think Uefa needs to come down hard on these kind of clubs and their blatant disregard for FFP. I'd of expected more from such a well established football institution. I thought it was only big bad Chelsea and City spending beyond their means? Make an example of Liverpool, let them get back into Europe and then ban them!
I'd like to see Suarez banned for this as well. TALKSP0RT are apparently saying PL clubs who fail will be subjected to the same punishments as clubs who go into administration as well as a further punishment for failing FFP. Saying 30 points. Can be applied to this season or next season, its the leagues decision. What does that leave City and Liverpool on?
The PL rules on losses won't bite until 2016, and they're much less stringent. I think clubs will be allowed to show losses of £105m across 3 seasons. (based on their current run rate Liverpool would still fail that like....)
The UEFA Financial Fair Play Regulations, first agreed in principle in September 2009 by the Financial Control Panel of football’s governing body in Europe (Union of European Football Associations – UEFA), were brought in to prevent professional football clubs spending more than they earn in the pursuit of success and in doing so getting into financial problems which might threaten their long term survival Nothing in there about Sugar, No tate & Lyle Its that last sentence. It wouldnt threaten their long term survival.
Pfft, i was just dangling some bait. The Liverpool fans cant resist snapping at such posts One or two of them will still bite, the thicker ones like Sisu. Astro isnt on here anymore.
Financial fail play camke into effect because the clubs asked for it. This was due largely to Chelsea, City and other clubs. Not saying Chelsea will fail here, just that the whole idea behind it is largely down to your club in its early years of Abramovich ownership.
It would if the sugar daddy stop paying the bills as the business would be unsustainable without him covering the losses, that's the point soft arse.
Oh I know thats what FFP was for. I just find it funny that UEFA tried to spin at as a new rule to protect clubs from administration instead of saying the truth "Look, you have crashed the party of the elite European teams and peoples noses are out of joint. We dont like this."
It doesn't stop a sugar daddy taking over a club and investing massively in infrastructure though, building a club from the ground up as opposed to creating a version of the Harlem Globe trotters in a rented stadium in Manchester
Who lives off the back of the actual world famous football club with the same first name. Going around calling themselves Manchester rather than City.
Absolutely priceless that LFC fans did not see this coming. Even supposedly knowledgeable ones like PMK, DR and SKy who are frantically researching FFP to reassure themselves as we speak. There again they did not know that john Barnes was racially abused by Liverpool fans until this morning apparently. Maybe they will airbrush FFP out of history too along with Athens etc
