I think its time we start talking about this... Many, many sources (including Sky and Ornstein) have said this number is accurate for our transfer budget. The question I want to ask - is how??? The last 2 transfer windows we have spent money - but gross, not NET. Aubameyang, Mikhi, Lacazette were offset by Ox, Giroud, Walcott, Gibbs, Sanchez, Gabriel, Coquelin, Szczesny. We have not had a net spend in quite some time. Why do we only have £50m?? Wheres the money?? What is going on? I refuse to believe that a club the size of Arsenal has this minuscule budget. is it Kroenke? is it our structure? It certainly cant be Wenger anymore...
Well we effectively paid £77 million for Aubamayang. £52 million plus a £15million signing on fee. He's World Class but thats rather pricey considing his age.
£50m - Just basing this of the current most up to date rumours. Sell: Mustafi Perez Elneny Iwobi Ospina Jenkinson Akpom Campbell Asano Looking at a minimum £45million for that lot. Buy: (Based on current transfer rumours.) Kondogbia (Valencia) - Approx £30million or William Carvalho. Sokratis Papastathopoulos(Dortmund) - FREE Max Meyer (Schalke) - FREE Bernd Leno (Leverkusen) - £15m Çağlar Söyüncü (Freiburg) - £15m Seri £30million ----------------------------------Leno----------------------------------------- Bellerin----------Socratis--------------Koscielney----------Kolasinac -------------------------------Kondogbia------------------------------------- ---------Mkhitarian------------Ozil--------------Seri/Ram---------------- ------------------------------Aubamayang----------------------------------- Bench: Meyer, Söyüncü, Wellbeck, Monreal, Lacazette, Xhaka, Cech. Wilshere, Mavroponos, Maitland-Niles. Thats a team easily strong enough to be mounting a serious challenge.
Sokratis wont be free, he will cost in the region of £15m. I would love Kondogbia, but dont think that will happen. Still think we should have far more money to spend, not sure where its all going.
Errr... true. Oh yeah? - there were rumours floating around he was out of contract this Summer? Still I think he would be a decent signing. My first choice for CB would be Koulibali - but he would cost 50+. Manolas is another decent option.
On top of that I could also mean.. That Minislat will make some signings (Socratis, Leno, Meyer possibly) and a £50million budget will be left for additional signings chosen by the next manager?
http://www.transferleague.co.uk/arsenal/english-football-teams/arsenal-transfers 79m net over the past two seasons. One of those seasons you were in the EL, so you will not receive the usual CL money (according to UEFA prize/TV + your sponsor T+Cs) , that you have been long accustomed to. That drop in revenues may account for the alleged "50m" kitty.

Is that really how it works? Sounds a bit to much like the old football manager tactic of 'pay in monthly instalments to trick the transfer budget'
Most clubs pay in instalments. T+Cs depend on how much leverage each side has on each other. For example, Madrid were able to get Bale from Spurs AFAIK in 4 instalments (due to the state-sponsored summer unsettling) . Citeh OTOH had to pay nearly all of the money upfront for Walker (they had no leverage) .
£50m EXTRA amortised on top of what we already pay amortised just seems too good to be true. Amortised now doesn't even seem like a real word because I've read it so many times.
