Quite possibly. I think it will be an eye opener for Mahrez if no bid comes in. then what does he do. He is contracted to us for another 3 seasons. He should not have been so public about his desire to leave. a bit of egg on his face now is likely

Unlike Payet he actually achieved things - the whole form is temporary class is permanent saying is in force here.

So you don't think England look more potent in attack without him?

    Gareth Southgate does <laugh>

... then you obviously haven't watched him much tbf ... Mahrez one on one will normally beat his man ... put him in a team with quality players that can set that up for him and you've got a marvellous player ... Payet was very good with dead ball situations ... Rooney and Payet might be inter-changeable now (although Payet would beat Wayne for pace) ... Mahrez and Rooney definitely not .... the former a healthy eating ballet dancer versus a clog wearing morris dancer with a penchant for fast food <laugh>

    fab!
What team wouldn't be Fosse. Rooney just slows everything down. slow slow slow. they only took him back for sentimental reasons surely as he wont progress them as a team/club that's for sure.

Swansea are playing hardball though and threatening to do you for tapping him up.

Doesn't look like aren't after him any more- we made our £40m bid at the beginning of the month and then been after other targets.

    Are you sure? http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/40550188

Bbc say bid was rejected in the weekend/monday

Are you sure it's an interest dripped for other targets, or just his rumoured desire to move to Goodison?

Seems like it was because we bid our maximum and saw that Swansea didn't was to negotiate so we walked away. Our bid was apparently in excess of £40M including addons and we offered wages in excess of £100k p/w on a long term contract.

That we didn't cause him to have an attack of the vapours with must also have played a factor in why we haven't followed up.

But one of your brethren stated that you would blow tiny Everton out of the water on this because you had been watching him for years and years and he is now ready to suit your style

Only messing mate, he is a very good player and in todays market is probably worth the money. Everton are starting to look very dangerous for next season, I would not be surprised to see them right among the top 6 and in the mix for top 4.

At that price we could get 2 players. A CF and a CB..

Ha as I'm sure you're aware mate the rest of us are respectful of what's Everton are doing and think they will be a threat. My main/only hope that we would finish above them is that it sometimes takes that many new signings at once a while to gel. Fingers crossed. For that reason, in my opinion, they won't trouble the top 4 this season but can't fault their ambition to do so.
On Siggy, would love him but another sign of the market gone mad!

He clearly wants to move to Everton which is a shame but we move on. At least we have helped to drive up the price for a rival.

Seems a large fee but ultimately they are getting a match winner who can produce a bit of quality to win those tight games and those types of players don't come around often.

Swansea have rejected £45M for Sigurdsson from Everton which apparently included £40m up front - good on them for sticking to their guns I suppose.

We shouldn't sell Mahrez for less.
