And you know she doesn't. I heard venture capitalists were her backers and I immediately thought, who is a famous one of those? Ellis Short?
Yes she could go look at another club, but..... Despite being very bias about NUFC, ask yourself this. If you were in her position and were looking at the PL club most likely to blossom into a real contender, a club with huge potential, a club that with a little bit of TLC, run properly could take off big time, then, there is only one club that fits the bill and that club is Newcastle. It’s as simple as that, she gets it, Rafa got it and hopefully still gets it. We have the potential to rocket if only someone would light the fuse. That’s why she wants this club, all the skittles are lined up and waiting.
That is the key thing. If it looks like we're staying up then she is gonna have to offer that anyway, worst case scenario we go down, we still get the TV money at the end of the season + parachute payments. I'm sure they can convince Rafa to do another season in the championship, christ knows we've got the squad already there and we add a few more players in to the mix to cover injuries and anybody who wants to jump ship (Merino god forbid), we'll still have 50k+ in the ground We'll be back in the PL straight away again and we move onwards and upwards from there. All it's gonna do is delay some of whatever plans they have for a season. Can't be that big of a ****ing deal. Seriously, just give the fat ****er what he wants, and tell him they'll add on whatever he puts in between now and the end of the transfer window and be done with it. Everyone's happy. AS gets NUFC, Ashley gets his £300m, Rafa gets some players and we're all happy we can move on....except what will we have to whinge about then? I reckon if AS finds out someone's likely to eat their own pubes on a cracker and post the video on here she might get her finger out....i reckon she's a right sort and would love all that **** !!!
All these people saying clauses are acceptable, would any of you like to buy this car I've got? Its valued at about £6000. Its got 120k miles on. What's that? No I'm not willing to give you some money back in 6 months if the clutch fails or the left hand driveshaft fails you mad ****er.
Don’t forget the “other party” who in December was willing to pay £350M, they should be just about ready to formalise a bid anytime soon... Shouldn’t they? Ashley wouldn’t lie about that would he?
I don't think we should be under any illusions about Amanda Staveley either...she didn't get to having a £29billion client portfolio without being a hard-headed businesswoman herself.
I think what your table shows is that what your table shows is that, with the very commendable exceptions of Tottenham and Burnley, clubs who spend similar amounts to us are in the ****. If we are in agreement on that, the rest is detail.
I think this thread is brilliant and likewise the posters are too 57 pages over 1100 posts - lots of debate - pros and cons without the need to slag each other off (yet) all with one purpose in mind - a better Newcastle United if only Ashley could of tapped into that quite unlike another board where it descends into pitch battles and meetings after school
But if there is a knocking noise in the engine which might be nothing (relegation) or metal grinding noise when you start the engine which might be nothing (HMRC) would you still expect £6,000?
Didn't know the details of the offers and the second offer is very good. BUT I work in Estate agency though and the house is worth what the vendor wants to sell for. Got properties marketed above what the market value would be even though we tell the vendor your house is worth "X" but they want/believe its worth "Y". If the vendor isn't happy with the offer, the offer gets rejected regardless of where the true property value is. Put the shoe on the other foot would you accept £250K for a house you believed you could get £300-350k for? Saying that though you have indemnity's and retainers on house sales for stuff like subsidence e.g. a problem that may rear its head in the future ala HMRC investigation/relegation clauses, so if the second offer was on the table I'd be slapping my property vendor about telling them to "accept the damn deal you fat cockney twat".
can we not make it somewhere else I hate MacDonalds and the Campbell's and the Stuarts and the rest of the clan I'll be standing next to that wall on the A69 if you want to find me
Agree but disagree. The property/Club is worth what someone will pay for it. It’s value is not what the Seller wants but what the Buyer will pay. Obviously, the Seller doesn’t have to sell if his price isn’t met but it still doesn’t mean that is what it’s worth.
That's not fair. At least make it a fair fight. Jim's mobility scooter will never make it up Greenhead Bank!!
but if there is only one buyer interested and Ashley desperate to sell ? maybe he's not that desperate yet
